Constitutional Law is a very informative subject and useful for the improvement of your general knowledge.
Constitution of any country is not so limited to be grasped entirely within the timeframe set by most of the CSS aspirants. Whereas, the CSS syllabus mentions only the name of country whose constitution we have to learn. The good part is that we can analyze the past papers and find out what the expectations of FPSC staff are from the aspirants. Ofcourse, the more you know the better it is but the compromise between the time devoted to each subject has to be made which prevents the thorough study of any one of the subject. I am open to discussions regarding the Contitutional Law paper. All the Best~

@All users,
The important constitutions to study are: Pakistan, UK, USA, France, There were three questions on the Pakistani constitution in the 2010 paper, it is vital that you are well versed in all constitutions of Pakistan because we had number of constitutions. The UK constitution is very simple, there are never trick questions, you just need to familiarize yourself with general topics like rule of law, parliament sovereignty, conventions, powers of prime minister in contrast to the US president. It will be a good idea to go through past papers to get the idea, and keep in mind that you will be required to do comparison of two constitution, for e.g. there was a question on rule of law and driot system in 2010, in 2009 there was a question where the candidates were required to do a comparison of rule of law and due process of law. All the best to all aspiring candidates! |

Constitutional laws may often be considered second order rulemaking or rules about making rules to exercise power. It governs the relationships between the judiciary, the legislature and the executive with the bodies under its authority.
