Default Difference b/w Constitution & Constitution Law
The person who checked the last years Constitution Law exams commented that "many student's didn't even know the difference between constitution and constitution law."


Can anyone explain whats the difference ??

Big deal if anyone couldn't tell them apart.I mean,the difference is very subtle.

CONSTITUTION:The body of fundamental rules and principles that determines the structure of a State and that stipulates the relation between the Government and the people.

CONSTITUTIONAL LAW:The interpretation and application of the Constitution.
(A combination of Statutory Law,Common Law i.e.judicial precedents,Conventions etc.)


A more frequently asked question than this is the difference between Constitutional Law and Statutory Law.Statutory Law is whatever is enacted by a legislative body.Now this may or may not be constitutional law depending on where it stands with regard to its constitutionality.That is,if a statutory law in contravention of the Constitution,it will not qualify as constitutional law.
