Default Out of syllabus topics preparation

2019 IL paper had questions about ICC that wasnt part of syllabus. So for 2020 preparation should i keep such topics in mind that are relevant and related to current situations but not mention in syllabus. Such as IL related to non state actors, about Kashmir situation, about icj judgement on kulbushan jadev etc.

My worry is that they may consume my extra time that i can give to another subject. So my seniors please guide me on this issue.

As i am preparing alone with no study partner and this forum is my only source of guidance.

Regards.
