Change in Muslim Law syllabus.

Hello, hope you're all well.
I was looking at the new syllabus and it seems to focus a lot more on the substantive laws rather than Islamic jurisprudence as it was previously. The section on family law is the longest. If so, do i really need to do the sources of Islamic law and jurisprudence in a lot of detail? Or should i focus more on the laws?

Sources of islamic law is the most important topic. Throughout previous papers a question has been asked regarding a source, either be it quran, sunnah, ijma, qiyas or ijtehad.
Next comes family law, it is also significant as mlfo ordinance and some other recent laws are related to it. Go through essentials. Dont confuse yourself with fiqhs.
Understand the topic more, as analytical questions are being asked as you could see in 2016 paper.
Hope this helps. Best of luck.

The course is divided in such a way that it will be impossible to devise a paper without a single question from every portion. My advice is to study 4 sections of the course and you will have good marks.
