Dear Superfly,

I Greet you in Islamic Way: Asalam-o-Alikum

The topics you mentioned in your post covered the whole syllabus. You have to analyze which topics are most important for 2010. If you evaluate the topics from past papers, you will realize that Marriage, Gift, Guardian, Dower, Dissolution are very important. Makes notes of it in good manner with SECTIONS mentioned in F.D Mulla book.

I Have covered the following given topics, And i think they are enough to get good marks INSHALLAH.

2. Marriage.
3. Dower.
4. Dissolution of marriage.
6. Guardianship.
7. Maintenance.
8. Gifts.
9. Law of Wakfs.
13. Sunni law of inheritance. = Not done in details, Just over viewed it
14. Shia law of inheritance. = Not done in details, Just over viewed it
2.The Qur’an
3.The Sunnah
4.Deducing the Law from its Sources
8.Ijma’ (Consensus of Opinion)
9.Qiyas (Analogical Deduction)
10.Revealed Laws Preceding the Shari’ah of Islam
11.The Fatwa of a Companion
12.Istihsan (Equity in Islamic Law)
13.Maslahah Mursalah (Considerations of Public Interest)
14.Urf (Custom)
19.Ijtihad (Personal Reasoning)

^Great!
Wasalaam and thanks a lot for the reply.

Besides, I am using Fyzee`s book. I wasnt able to get my hands on Mulla`s. I feel its a good book as it covers all the topics.

Thanks again bunko!

Dear Superfly,

Np, We are all in the same boat. I think, you should get F.D Mullah because it is also recommended. And i caught many Questions and Illustrations from F.D Mullah that came in exams. So it is very handy to hit a nail on head.

And also buy, EMPHORIUM PUBLISHERS book of Mr.Asif Malik ( 20 Exam Cram Questions ). It is very nice book for MCQ's and Questions for Muslim Jurisprudence and other Imp topics. After reading this book, I corrected 19 MCQ's of 2009 :P~ . Fingers are crossed. X X

Dear,

GIFT and Inheritance, case type (Illustrations) question usually comes in exam.

Last year Question # 2 is exact copy of Gift of Mushaa and its example; given at page # 201.

I jz had a question. The part of Mulsim Law he has given, is very short.Do you think that's Ok if v only stay upto this or is it v necessarily essential to consult D.F mULLA cz i ve seen dt is quite a voluminious buk which i dont think have time to even go thru as my other optionals r striking me :blinkhard.....

@ Rishzz,

Asalam-o-Alikum,

Dear, Quantity doesn't matter, focus on Quality, I am also appearing first time in CSS in 2010. But i have learnt in my past educational experience that if you pen down quality paper you will get good marks. And according to my analysis, Answer should be direct, accurate and with figures.

One of my friend did'nt pass CSS 2009, but he got 55 in M.Law,
He just followed book by Asif. Furthermore, I have prepared my notes, In which i have written only 2-3 Pages per question with relevant Sections and Examples.

Further, I request any senior who had appeared in CSS with optional M.Law to share his/her experience with us.

@rishzz, bunko and superfly

DF Mulla's book is The Book u need. i mean it is the reference book. all other books are written after taking direction and consultation from this book. A book by Sir Abdur Rahim is also a great resource. But Fayzee, Imran Ahsan Niazi, Exam Xram, Dogar's Unique all are helpful though i would suggest u should read Fayzee or Imran Ahsan Niazi.

About superfly's question whcih laws are administered in Pakistan: they are part of the syllabus. they are Guardian and Wards Act, Family Ordinance, Registration of Marriages Act, etc. Just follow the syllabus and they will be covered automatically.
Good luck to all !

U have to be unique.

What i would recommend u is that the book by D F Mullah is comrehensive book. Skip inheritance chapter in that. nearly 70% of the paper would come from that book.

I secured 67 marks in muslim law paper in my 1st attempt.. I am very much busy these days preparing for psychological tests and interview(CSS 2009). if any friend wish to seek urgent help, that friend can email me.

I wish u best of luck
