IR will help a lot. If you are not good at IR then you must study. One year ago, i was also layman in IR field, but now I am good Mashallah.
Whateva u choose, you gota study. Dont go for easy subjects. Remember, there is no easy way. The simple and direct way is TO STUDY.
The subject selection is good. Check out the syllabus of Public ad, forestory, punjabi and other regional subjects.
@Rabia Aslam,
Muslim Law and Jurisprudence is an easy subject and scoring as well. Don't afraid to go for it. It will also covers your basic concept of Islamic sources, state, system of justice etc (questions of these types usually come in islamyat and general knowledge papers). OR

Go for International Law. It is also scoring and a very easy subject though, a bit lengthy. OR

Regional languages, in your case it should be Punjabi, are considered scoring machines. Your start in these languages may be slow but after giving few consistent readings, you will be able to overcome the hesitation and suddenly feel your grip on the subject.

The last decision maker is, of course, you.

Its 25% part of the syllabus. Yar it depends on a candidate. One my friends has been reading this subject for the last one year and he is not well versed so far.
