Default Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam

Can anyone help me understand it? I found it in book of MM Sharrif but its so over stuffed and heavy that it is beyond my understanding. I tried searching for its explanation online but couldn't find any. Help!

I have studied Kant and Bergson, Iqbal's philosophy is influenced by these two, mostly. But i couldn't find any explanation of Iqbal's philosophy. Specially his concept of Ijtihad is really vague(Or my be it's just for me?)

if you are a css aspirant you should firstly consult the whole syllabus of western philosophy. Iqbal included references to other philosophers like plato, Hegel etc so i think studying western philosophy before iqbal may help better understand his reconstruction of religious though in Islam.

I think you can not even digest Kant and Bergson, if you have not gone through plato, aristotle, descart, lock, hume, to say the least.

Regards

reconstruction of religious thought is about:
1. organismic and cyclical nature of culture and civilization... read the INTRODUCTION of HISTORY OF MUSLIM PHILOSOPHY.
2. that a scientist is as good as a sufi... read in the same book what imam ghazali did to religious thought and how ibn rushd, averroes, the commentator changed all of that... because according to ghazali anyone trying explain religion through philosophy is a heretic and worthy of death... it is also said that BUT FOR GHAZALI NEWTON AND EINSTEIN WOULD HAVE BEEN A MUSLIM
3. rest i am yet to find.
4. good luck

assalam-0-alaikum,
"Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam"
I don't know much about author but seemingly this phrase delivers incomplete message. To understand the meaning of this sentence one has to place hidden hidden word (s) along with it and exactly this placement will reflect your thoughts as to whether positive/negative. As the poet availed his right by writing this sentence and now here I am using my right to pick it up as "(Rare need for) reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam (in our minds)" because we have rare need to change/reconstruct our though which have been made by this scenario (media, some individuals and Muslim Terrorism; explanation: illegal encroachment of foreigners in the name of Muslim Terrorism etc...). And reconstruct it according to instruction of Quran and Ahadees and reconstruct it as of Sahaba.......
* By reading this phrase as it is "Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam"......., one can go faraway, because Islam is a complete religion (Alhamdulillah) and there is no addition and subtraction for Islam.....
may Allah bless us and keep stable on on right......
