Aoa. Dear fellows im thinking of opting philosophy for css 2014. I am an engineer and dont have any know-how of this subject. Is it possible to prepare it on your own without any academy or guidance? And kindly also educate me with any other suggestions regarding this subject.

rather, go for psychology or Geography etc..
