Guidance required for the recommended book for Philosophy paper 2

Asalam-o-alaikum:

I need some gidance about the book called "history of muslim philosophy" by M.M Sharif. as it appears both the volumes combined are lengthy.

Can someone please tell me for paper 2, if selective study of this book is possible?..if yes then which topics?
