Sociology VS Journalism and Mass communication

Hi Dear Members,
I am starting to prepare for CSS 2020 but i am really confused in subject selection although i have watched and read most of the online stuff including past papers and syllabus thoroughly.
My tentative List comprises ; IR, Gender studies, Criminology, US History.
Now between socio vs J&M comm which one should i opt for?
I am an electrical engineer and have not studied any of them in my entire academic career.

J&M is about stating the facts as they are. If you can develop a good grip and network of thoughts about the concepts; J&M is the best.
Otherwise sociology is a general subject with very good material available. However the max scores can be a bit low compared to J&M.

Based on your engineering background, you might like J&M. It is a bit technical too, e.g. different modes of communication. Go through the syllabus, you might appreciate the lengthy yet elaborated syllabus. It's lengthy but not too compact aka less-dense.

Sociology may appear to have a short syllabus but its got a lot of mass/dense. You have to go into the depths.

.

Easy to navigate if you enjoyed your elaborate engineering courses = J&M
Easy to absorb if you like getting to the depths of things, unlike engineering where everything is laid out bare and clear = Sociology

AsA I hope you are fine. I shall be glad if you could inform about your subject selection. I am passing through similar phase and confused with Sociology vs Journalism and Mass Communication Subject selection. What did you ultimately chose and how was your experience?
