Default How to prepare optional subjects in minimum time?

AoA, This is my first post on CSS forum. I wanted to know that what is the maximum time that most of the aspirants take to prepare one subject? I have heard people saying they had completed an optional in a week or two. For example sociology, by analyzing the syllabus and past papers I feel that I will take a whole month for it... In addition, we also need to relate the question with Pakistani society and local cultures, I need help in this regard too...

It is true, but requires supreme dedication, mindset and commitment. Sociology is most renowned to be a cram subject.
- Go though last 10 years past papers.
- Highlight repeating topics/questions = prioritize them.
- Study the theories (Karl Marx, Ibn Khuldun, Spencer etc.) as a backup (do minimum 3) as there will almost always be a question on this.
- Focus more on social problems of Pakistan (always a question on this = poverty, child labor, etc.)
- Social Change, culture, norms, values and other societal terminology should be deeply understood
- Socialization of man and migration should not be neglected.
- Methods of sociological research is a must - get well versed in this topic

[Try making your first draft notes on MS Word, then make more concise notes by hand on paper]
A good book I used for my notes is 'Sociology' by John J. Macionis - it details all of the terms and theories of sociology in the syllabus and further ferments with real life modern examples + problems.

Good Luck!
