starz is an unknown quantity at this point

journalism will be better. it is more scoring as compared to sociology. and its course is also easy and interesting, especially for MBA it is not a big deal to grasp.

Dear,

Stars is very much right in saying tht journalism is very much scoring. i scored 61 in that in 07 exam while 54 in 08 but this time i dint prepare well.

Its easy and scoring. sociology has huge course though easy but sometimes questions and mcqs are very tricky which dellude u. so dont go for sociology..

My vote is also for journalism. Just cover Communication, role of press in freedom movement ( just briefly cover miserable situation after 1857, role of Sir Sayyed, Molana Zafar Ali Khan, Muhammad Ali Johar, Abul kalaam Azaad, Hasrat Mohani, and newspapers Ihsan, Inqilab, Dawn, Nawa-i-Waqt and Pakistan Times), Advertisement, Public Relations, Mass Media, Responsibilities and Freedom of Press. Just prepare 4-5 pages on each topic (or 2-3 pages if you make point wise notes) And that is all. It takes only 10-15 days at most to thoroughly cover this course.

My vote is for JOURNALISM


But it also demands logical study of all the course content. I would suggest you to go for recommended books indicated by FPSC.

Journalism is much btter than sociology coz first of all it's interesting,secondly,sociology's course is more lengthy and if u go through past paers u'll find that sociology papers are based on applied sociology not theory...

can both subjects be opted? As it says on the css website that sociology cannot be taken in combination with journalism or vice versa. Please help me out.
Also, on average how much time does it take to cover each of these courses?

as regrad ur question u can opt both sociology and journalism togather,coz there as such no rule that both can,t be opted togather. dear its ur misconception i have seen most of my seniors who are officers now they had both these subjects.go for that wid any confusion..........
