There are few sample essay given in Hafiz Arshad Notes. They make a lot of sense. If they prepared one can write essay. I had prepared from them and an unseen essay came in 2011 paper. But I was able to write from my own by making use of sentences in those essays I had prepared. And I got 140 marks.

i scored 61 +64 = 125
i studied thoroughly hafiz arshad sb notes, muhammad kazim, nicholson and ahmad hassan zayat but probably the good old days of arabic are gone now. one of my friend scored 140+ in his first attempt in 2008, again 140+ in 2009 in his second attempt but in 2012 his score had reduced to 130's. We both were expecting around 160 this time. i would suggest all candidates to make a comparison of arabic with persian before opting arabic |

there is no need to learn the essays by heart. in my opinion the best way is to have a little command in arabic language that you are able to translate your simple sentences into arabic during the exam, as suggested by tassawar. this will not only help you in writing the essay but also short questions.

Undoubtedly Arabic has been the most scoring subject. One of my friends scored 135 for both papers. In worst case it will give 120+.

As I opted it in December so I got hardly 20-25 days,it gave me tough time to some extent as I was preparing other subjects too.One must give at least proper one month to Arabic.By the way,it varies from person to person. If someone has interest in the subject and he picks quickly then he would take less time in preparation and vice versa.

Respectable Usman Khalid
Assalam o Alikum ! I am Shahid Manzoor, Telecommunication Engineer, Briefly a CSS aspirant for CE 2014. I am facing some uncertainty in subject selection as every aspirant does. I have heard from so many experienced people that Arabic helps to fetch good marks. However, I have not any educational background regarding Arabic. But on the other side I am good at comprehending languages by general aptitude inherited from my father who is very comfortable with chemistry of different languages i.e Urdu, Persian and Arabic. I seek guidance about scoring trend and pattern of the Arabic paper in CSS. How much time it takes to prepare completely? Any special advantage it has when compared with Urdu, Indo Pak History, Islamic History and Geography ? My other Optional Subjects are Public Administration, Punjabi, Sociology and Journalism. please also comment on these. expecting your reply ! Regards
