Dear Brother I had a sound background of Arabic, I studied its basics with grammar and also read several books on it. I learned the translation of Holy Quran grammatically and its exegesis too. Therefore, for me the literary portion was only the difficult one. Rest of the syllabus I prepared in very short time. Some books I would recommend the aspirants are Hasan Ziat's book (it's very elaborate hence only selective study of it would suffice you) and notes of hafiz Arshad sahib. Beside these recommendations JWT's twin books on Arabic are also good but much of it's material is entirely copied from Hasan Ziat's book "tareekh Adab ul Arabi".

For a novice the preparation of this subject could be a little challenging after reviewing this year's question paper. Now, grammar preparation would be also essential to score good in this paper. However, only 20% of the 200 marks paper is required to be attempted in Arabic rest of the paper could be attempted in Urdu or English. Preparation of grammar would take some longer time but other parts could be prepared in 3-4 weeks by giving couple of hours daily solely to this subject. You may contact for any further query in this subject. Best of luck

Regards

It is suggested by looking at the new trend of Arabic that one must have atleast some basic knowledge of Arabic Grammer and language. It will help you in answering Short Q`s , MCQ and Short Essay.
Rest be Almighty with you.
Sir if i go on along with hafiz arshad's note and arabic made easy by jehangirs written by dr. inam ul haq ghazi ...can i score what you scored
i have no basic knowledge of arabic ... but i am outstanding crammer.

Sorry for late reply as i was abit busy in my office.
The total time allocated to Arabic was a month only as I was as new to Arabic as one is. The English portion is easy and can be grabbed in 15 days.
So for the poetry, u must do hard work as it is cramming only. The tip for poetry is that try to remember one word of Arabic with Urdu meaning which may help u to recall the whole translation of the given verse or ode.
Secondly, since u have time so try to learn the basic of Arabic grammer and it will help u alot in answering Short Q`s.
I have attempted poetry section in Urdu and the rest paper was attempted in English.
Dont be afraid from Arabic and just be confident.
Good Bless u and best of luck.
Sir can you kindly tell me how to start with Arabic preparation and also in your months preparation,,, was it dedicated one to arabic only... how many hours in total sir!

its all about how much you retain in your mind in first reading
increase the percentage
then how much you retain in 2nd reading
and then in the third ...
drive yourself

It means we you read a topic 2 to 3 times.... but brother when you approaches the last topic of the book, the very first topic almost fades away from our memory

i think i am a good crammer too. and the thing is cramming is way more difficult than conceptual study. but some people just cant cram bacause to them reading without understanding is boring, useless and not worth while crammer can cram , it doesnt mean that for crammers cramming gets easy its just that they can do it without thinking much that it is useless. and revision is must whether you cram or make concepts, its just that it becomes a lot easier second time you go throught that topic and so on. so revise and revise
