well dear latitude and longitude together give a geographical position (location) of any point.. like we have x-y coordinates on a graph whch join to gv a certain point.. same way lat n long combine to give a position (location) of certain point on the globe... now obviously, as far geographical postion is concerned pakistan is not a single point tht means it wud hv thousands of difrnt positions (latitude n longitudes) as u move from one place to other within pakistan...like khi wud hv difrnt geographical position (lat n long) n isb wud hv difnt.. so within a country u will hv various positions (lats n longs).. hope it wud gv some idea! ciao:

to know latitude and longitude of any city of country you can use Google Earth and Ecarta World Atals(Softwares)......

Latitude and Longitude

Dears, the varriation in lat long of Pakistan from different sources may be due to the fact that the border is not clearly marked in the northen areas.

Extreme points

Its usually measured at the capital city of any country
Islamabad is 33°40' N 73°10' E
Other than that the longitudes and latitudes at the furthest most tips of Pakistan are:
Northern: 37°3' N, 75° E (near Misqar in GB a little to the west of the Khunjrab Pass)
Southern: 23°4' N, 68° 2' E (near the Rann of Kutch, Thatta)
Eastern: 35°3' N, 78°00 E (a little east of the Karakoram Pass, Hetian)
Western: 29°5' N, 60°52'"E (at AFIRPK i.e the point where Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan meet in Balochistan)

I agree with SYEDA SABAHAT that the average positions are
"The territory it controls mostly lies between latitudes 23° N and 37° N (a small area is north of 37°), and longitudes 61° E and 78° E (a small area is west of 61°)." (Pakistan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

what is this ?

On many websites it is given like this
30° 0' 0" N / 70° 0' 0" E
shouldn't it be from N extreme to S extreme .. and E extreme to W extreme ??
