What is the difference b/w meridians and longitudes?

The Correction!

Maridians are vertical Lines on the globe running from North-South. These lines intersect each other at the poles. Longitudes are the same line. Moreover, Meridians are called the lines of Longitudes.

One the other hand Parallels and Latitudes are the same thing, as these are lines disecting globe from East-West. These lines do not intersect with each other.
