Maps displaying the distribution of different objects of definite value may be adjusted under the distribution map.these maps show the distribution of a single element e-g rainfall,farm production,density of population.

METHODS OF SHOWING VARIATION:-

1:-BY THE MAP OF NON-QUANTITATIVE DISTRIBUTION
2:-BY THE MAP OF QUATITATIVE OR STATISTICAL DISTRIBUTION

1:-MAP OF NON-QUANTITATIVE DISTRIBUTION:-
The maps shows the areal distribution of a certain elements without taking into account the density of distribution.these are further of two types

a;- SIMPLE AREAL DISTRIBUTION MAPS:-
a map shown by colour pattern or tint e-g forest distribution map.it is also called S.A.D.M maps.

b:-COMPOUND AREAL DISTRIBUTION MAPS:-
These maps show how the land is divided acording to various types or subdivision or a certain element such as soil maps,geological maps or maps showing variousforms of govt.maps of qualitative areal distribution can be drawn according to several methods
a:-colour patch or different shade(chorochromatic)
b:-small-semi pictorial symbols(choroschematic).
