Default Impact of TV on Soceity

Media is considered to be as fourth pillar of state. Media is representative of grass roots and depressed classes for accountability of power owned people. As commonly known most popular media is TV rendering its services since long. Gone are days when masses were unaware and irrelevant toward the society change and revolution. Having said that we can expose the TV to be most efficient and effective mode of communication responsible for the masses representative and mobilization has a great impact and implication on our lives. Today era is IT ere with information explosion and information imperailsims.Those nations cannot ladder up toward success whose media does not foster society change. Society needs the truthful representation and self starter motivation. TV has done this job rightly. TV has changed the thinking and perception of common man and leaves a dark spot in minds as well as heart to change and grow. Information imperialism means nation with strong media boosting and carrying more information instead of less advanced media of any country. but in today’s media warfare the words are weapons and the satellites are the artillery and due to information imperialism it’s the matter of information haves and information have-nots. Television is an inescapable part of modern culture. We depend on TV for entertainment, news, education, culture, weather, sports—and even music, since the advent of music videos. With the recent explosion in satellite and digital specialty channels, we now have access to a plethora of both good quality and inappropriate TV content.
Unlike radio, the time organized channel and newspaper, the space organized channel, the television has both the characteristics in it and here space as well as time is utilized for the sake of communication. So the television is more powerful medium with greater impacts.
Some of the characteristics of TV brought up to change.1. TV is responsible for the revolution and evolution of mind and heart of common people fostering information and awareness among masses.
2. TV is new mount peak whereby whole picture and depiction of society can be seen and summed up. Because certain types of TV drama, films, programs, documentary movies, news and views, current affairs give a new edge to society to gaze.
3. TV is a biggest source of advertisement business fostering for entrepreneurs who spent a large sum of money on their business and generate heavy earning.
4. TV is prominent by any other media whose impact and implication much more than any media that is responsible for the change attitude and behavior of young as well as elders.
5. TV gave a new phase to fashion and design. Youngster has utilized TV much for fashion.
6. Because of its ability to create powerful touchstones, TV enables young people to share cultural experiences with others.
7. TV programs often explore controversial or sensitive issues, which can make it easier for parents and kids to discuss them.
8. Educational programming can develop young children's socialization and learning skills.
9. Increased fear—also known as the mean and scary world syndrome
Children, particularly girls, are much more likely than adults to be portrayed as victims of violence on TV, and this can make them more afraid of the world around them.
10. Desensitization to real-life violence
Some of the most violent TV shows are children's cartoons, in which violence is portrayed as humorous—and realistic consequences of violence are seldom shown.
11. Increased aggressive behavior
This can be especially true of young children, who are more likely to exhibit aggressive behavior after viewing violent TV shows or movies.
12. Sexual content
Kids today are bombarded with sexual messages and images in all media—television, magazines, advertisements, music, movies and the Internet.
13. On the other end TV is single most wanted entity responsible for the destruction or moral values, and acculturation of adults.
14. TV can create and remove the misunderstanding between different rival states on the critical and sensitive issues like the Pakistan India and Kashmir issue. On the other hand the long standing issue of Palestine and Israel.
15. Sometimes TV exaggerates some nosy facts that lead to disharmony, mess up, political turn oil and slump. Like the case of Shoaib Akthar and Muhmmad Asif brought some misconception among common picture.
16. Written word cannot explain the things which the naked eye perceives on picture. There is Chinese quotation, “A picture is worth one thousands words”
17. TV is also responsible for the juvenile delinquency and criminal behavior of young people who take impact by watching different fighting movies that lead to change their criminal and immoral behavior.
18. TV has also promoted our regional and national language not only in Pakistan but also in foreign country. Much work has been going on in diverse language. Because for regional drama and programs producers need a lot of library research for script writing before the preproduction phase.
19. TV has opened a thousand of jobs in TV channel that has been encouraging step for the unemployed people to come and get in. Now we have different nature of jobs in multiple TV channels.
