3) = cognitive theory is mainly deal social psychology
It describes the state of holding two or more conflicting cognition's (e.g., ideas, beliefs, values, emotional reactions) simultaneously. In a state of dissonance, people may sometimes feel surprise, dread, guilt, anger, or embarrassment.
The theory of cognitive dissonance in social psychology proposes that people have a motivational drive to reduce dissonance by altering existing cognition's, adding new ones to create a consistent belief system, or alternatively by reducing the importance of any one of the dissonant elements.
An example of this would be the conflict between wanting to smoke and knowing that smoking is unhealthy; a person may try to change their feelings about the odds that they will actually suffer the consequences, or they might add the consonant element that the short term benefits of smoking outweigh the long term harm. The need to avoid cognitive dissonance may bias one towards a certain decision even though other factors favor an alternative.


2) PUBLIC RELATIONS
It is a management of communication by organisation internally and externally to public by media creating goodwill and maintaining favorable image of the organisation.

WORKINGS

2-maintain goodwill
3-management crisis that threatens the product or image (service)
e.g ( IBM is famous but WINDOWS is more favorable brand of MICROSOFT )

Objectives of PR

1. Building Product Awareness
2. Creating interest, arranging special events
3. Providing information, articles, newsletter
4. Stimulating demand, publishing positive articles stimulate demand
5. Reinforcing the brand, building good will with the customers
and goes onnnnnnn....................

i m preparing my own detailed and comprehensive notes for this subject as the competition is gonna quite tough for this subject in the coming years.

i just wanted to have a look at her's too if they could be of any help. but no problems as what se posted here is quite an ordinary effort :o
