Question Communication models and theories

could anyone plz tell me the difference b/w a communication model n theory??
also i m preparing these models, these r enough or shoul i do more?if yes plz mention the name..


1. CLASSICAL COMMUNICATION MODELS

• Aristotle’s definition of rhetoric
• Aristotle’s model of proof
• Bitzer’s Rhetorical Situation

2. EARLY LINEAR MODELS

• The Shannon-Weaver Mathematical Model, 1949
• Berlo’s S-M-C-R, 1960
• Schramm’s Interactive Model, 1954
Two Step Flow Theory

3. NON-LINEAR MODELS

• Dance’s Helical Spiral, 1967
• Westley and MacLean’s Conceptual Model, 1957
• Becker’s Mosaic Model, 1968


how shoul the following ques b attempted?
What do mean by a communication theory and how it is constructed? (2004) besides doing social cognitive theory n cognitive dissonance theory, should i prepare any other??
basically the subject is new for me n i have found references to so many theories that i m confused which ones should b given elaborate treatment!!can anyone guide me plz?
