Here is the reply by AJ on the other forum for the query similar to one posted by Mr Hamid

Assalam-o-alaikum!

For Journalism, consult
1. EXPLORING JOURNALISM by Mirza Yousaf
2. Mass Communication by Imtiaz Shahid
3. Daily Newspaper(s)

Assalam-o-alaikum!

Thanx AMOEBA for the kindness.

Mr. Hamid, COnsult these books, and try to get the basic ideas on every topic. In the question paper, u'll find analytical questions (besides the history part). The only way to tackle those questions is to go through every topic in the book and keep the important points in ur mind. During the exam, just reproduce those ideas/points, expanding them according to the rquirements of the question(s).

There will be nothing out of the syllabus, but the question-statements will be a little tricky and different than what they are in the book!

ALLAH HAFIZ!

the book which you have mentioned deals basically with the basic principles and theory
you have asked for any latest book in the sphereof mass comm...have you gone throigh the syllabus?? the questions about mass comm are related with the basic principles...like messaging,channel,destination,encoding,decodong... i know a very good book aboout this..name of the book: Modern Mass Media but i dont know its author..if you want the author's name..i can check it for you in library..
and yes..search the internet about latest developmants...some sites have got very impressive models of communication

if you need any further help..give me a shout:-)
ok??
