how does advertising influence our society, Pakistani, and what are the latest trends and practices of advertising in Pakistan?

The printed, written, spoken or pictured representation of a person, product, services or movement openly sponsored by the advertiser at his expense for the purpose of influencing sales, votes or endorsement.

it is influencing the pakistani society both socially and economically
some positive social impact:
1-it suggest the consumer to buy better things
2- it helps in personality development(like it urges the people to buy cosmetics and dresses)
3- improve standard of living
4- promote social values n culture

some negative social impact:
1-increase frustration
2- cultural imperialism
3- make us imperialistic
4- changing behavior patterns.

some positive economic impact;
1- media organizations earn money through these adds
2- promote healthy competition among companies
3- expansion of trade and business
4-establish new markets

some negative economic impact:
1-increase lavish spending
2-promote economic disparity
3- manipulate people psyche
4- using deceptive techniques (like dont tell exact price....hide information)

latest trends and practices:

new techniques of advertising are becoming more popular through outdoor advertising and internet...(cigret companies cant advertise but with these new techniques they are increasing their customers.)
cable tv advertisement on small scale
using brand ambassadors (Shahid Afridi in Polio add)
etc

some are the current trends are as follows...
1-Social media is very important now-a-days so companies started advertising on internet.(advertiser share their content on FB.They can even send u emails without spending any money-when u open a video on youtube or ant other video hosting web, u have to watch advertisement before)
2-outdoor advertisement becomes more important.(electric poles, on high buildings, at squires)
3-Advertisements are now even pasted on utility bills(check ur electricity n gass bill)
4-adds are pasted on rickshaws, buses and other type of vehicles.
5-cable tv advertisement for locals(through this even a property dealer can advertise his services with limited resources within his locality)
6-Shirts, pencils, calenders, cups etc with companies logo's. advertisement are even printed on watches,hand bags.
7-product placement (stalls) at peoples places like universities (like cigret companies cannot advertise their content/product so they install their products at cafe's or big Malls etc)
8-celebrity branding (Reema in honey lotion...katrina in fair n lovely or lux add)
9-Multinational companies made same add for the Pakistan and India featuring Indian actresses and actors.
10-Music festivals...drama festival or any other performing arts festival arranged for the customers by the companies.
11-increase in prize schemes...(even for selling soap, they offer gold coins.)
