Public Relation:
No doubt in saying that "Public Relations is deliberate, planned, and sustained effort to establish and maintain mutual understanding between an organization and its public". it is best and actual definition of the public relation that completely describes the public relation. Public relation is intentional, planned, systematic and sustained activity designed in details depth and survey of the public and the products or services by the management of an organization to gain the mutual understanding between the organizationand and public in the effective way. below are some intentional aims of the PR:
1- to create the demands and to increase demands.
2- to create good wills and positive images and reputatons of the organization
3- to provide communication between the organization and the public.
4- to persuade and impress the audience
4- to find the new trends and features of the products by communicating with customers and asking them for their suggestions and opinions.
To create and increase demands of the products and services can not be achived simply advertisments and selling the products . It requires the good image and reputaion of the organization on which the customers can trust. Positive image and reputaion are builed when the organizations perform their services in the best and optimum ways. To create good will and reputaion ,organizations arrange and particpate in the different public events. organizations organize the various events in universities and public gathering places. They highlight the features of the products and services. They solve the problems and issues of the customers to establish and maintain the mutual understanding between the organiations and the public. To find the new trends and features of the products organizations communicate with customers and ask them for their suggestions and opinions. For all of this intantional, systematic, planned and sustained efforts by the IR specialist and management of the organization is required.

For example if the customers found some defficulties and problems in some services and products of a company ,and company does not provide the communication medium between the customers and the organization to solve their problems and issues ,then surely negative image and reputation will be formulated by the costumers of that company. So to abolish the negative image and reputation the companies' intentional ,palnned, systematic and sustained efforts are crucial to maintain and sustain the mutual understanding between the organization and public .

Advantages of the PR:
due to positive image and reputation formed ,produce the following advantages:
-Investors feeling more secure
-Communities being more supportive of your business activities
-Capital markets viewing you as a safer investment
-Customers paying more for your products or services
-Customers recommending you to others
-Employees feeling greater commitment to your company success
-Media treating you more fairly
-Business partners and suppliers giving you more favourable treatment.
these advantages which are produced in the result of the positive image and reputation formed, are the result of intentional ,planned ,and sustained efforts
which are established and maintained by the mutual understanding the the public and organization.

Conclusion:
PR is life blood of the organiations which leads to success and failure of the organiations. To decimate the failure "the deliberate, planned and susatained efforts are required to establish and maintain the mutual understanding between the public and organization".
I would say its a balanced attempt. What an answer, very effective and attractive attempt is made by you... Great work really...

Hence, still there is need of introducing the product in front of public exclusively. And in that purpose, Public Relations plays a vital role. PR is a sort of process which is done by Public and organization on a specific forum or platform.

Indeed, the exact definition of PR is deliberated, planned and sustained establishment to device mutual coordination and cooperation between the organization and public.

AIMS OF PR

Nevertheless, the aim of the public relations are a lot. But some of the aims are as under:

First and foremost aim is of to introduce a product in front of public. Apart from that it enhances the mutual understanding between the public and organization. People come in to contact, and they compare that product with other similar products. Besides, the functions and tendencies of that product are highly introduced so that people could make a decision whether they get it or not.

Secondly, in such scenario, the public and organizations are usually on the board, and they increase mutual coordination and cooperation. Besides, it also makes a place for the upcoming product in order to sell out the product. In this way, people always are satisfied.

Last but not the least, in such a broad forum whether it is in any place, it is a positive gesture and understanding among the people for some any product to get it for their benefits. And also organizations are updated in such a way about the contemporary trends of products. And as a matter of fact, it is an astonishing impact on the public exclusively.

ADVANTAGES OF PR

..However, the advantages of Public Relations can be described as under:-
..It introduces new products
..It provides an opportunity for organization to get in contacted public
..It enhances the activities of public to public contact, and in this way, the mutual coordination is increased to the great extent.
..Demand and supply gap is filled up, and in this way elastic and inelastic curve function their tendencies.
..Apart from above, both electronic and print media also function their role in advertising the product. Again it is a green gesture for both the public and organizations.

Conclusion

Conclusively, Public Relation has utmost impatience in order to introduce a product in market. Similarly, it enhances the mutual coordination and cooperation between people and organizations. Indeed, without PR, nothing can be done good enough related to new product in order to supply it to the consumers. Indeed, a well planned, and sustained efforts of PR can do miracles in devising the exclusive and mutual cooperation and understanding between public and organization.

-lapdog Journalism
-lapdog role of public and private channel in Pakistan
-conclusion

Watchdog:
Watchdog is a person or group of people who act as protector or guardian against the illegal and inefficient activities.

Watchdog journalism:
Watchdog journalism means to investigate or to keep an eye on the social, political and economical conditions. Media keep watch on the government and people in power. it speaks out to alert and warn the audience if something happens that should not. Watch dog journalism is located in all the media like .T.V, radio, newspapers, magazines and internet etc. It provides the supply of crucial information that public must have "in order to prevent the abuse of power".It brings forth those people who exploit the power. it sustains the order against disorder. It is opposite to propagandists who are loyal to the ruling power and elites. In order to perform the prominent role by the journalists, journalists must need to have distances from the power.

Watchdog role of public and private channel in Pakistan:
Private channel of Pakistan seem to be efficient and satisfactory in their role of watchdog. They come up with the day to day news of political, social and economic wings. Competition is found among these private channels. Every private channel makes efforts to prove that it is best acting body of watchdog.
The watchdog role of private channels like Geo, A.R.Y ,Express news, Dunya .T.V etc. in election 2013 of Pakistan can not be ignored. They provided the full coverage of the election whole the day. They highlighted the ragging issues during the election. They provided the footage of the ragging in different regions of the country. For example
1- In NA-251 (Karachi) unknown mafia tired to ceased the election. Meanwhile in various region of the country election team could not start the election in the right time. Footage were shown clearly to the people . in the result ECP announced to increase two more hours in the net time of election.
2- A man wearing black clothes was explicitly ragging in the NA-250 (
Karachi). Even after being caught ,police let him go easily.
3-Many women were doing explicitly ragging in NA-219 (Hyderabad).
These were the few examples of the watchdog role of private channels. But various footage were came forth by these channels to the public. These footage of ragging by these channels portrayed the inefficient and unsatisfactory management of election by the ECP.
Furthermore the Sikander Hayyat scandal whereby a man accompanied with his wife and two children driven out into middle of the Constitution Avenue of Islamabad .He fired out at the police .Police could not control this man even having passage of the more than five hours. A Brave man named Zamard Khan ended the sense. Private channels showed the complete sense. Hence the watchdog role of these private channels presented the failure of the current government security policy.
In addition private channels organize the various talk shows where the bold and skilled personality of anchors raise the voice. They criticize in favor or against the numerous issues and events of government, political and social.
Here are some of them.
(i) "Khara such" by A.R.G News
(ii) "Faisla Awam Ka" by Geo News
(iii) "Kal Tak" by Express news
(iv) "Capital Talk" by Geo News
(v) "News Hours" by Sama News

Lapdog :
Lapdog is the person or group of people who are easily controlled by the others.
Lapdog Journalism:
Lapdog Journalism means bodies of the journalists keep away the vital secrets from the public. They do not show them to the public. They do not criticize on the illegal political, social, government events, activities and scandals because of the close relation with the ruling power and officials.

Lapdog function of the private channels of Pakistan:
Almost all Pakistani private channels seem to be manipulated by the some power groups in some extent. They are working on the agenda of US, British and India. Almost all the anchors are paid due to their lapdog role by the politician, businessman. Malik Riaz the chairman of Baharia Town Lahore has bribed the many Media anchors to hide the corruption from the people of Pakistan and to give the negative impression of the chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhary. Why media didn’t expose this person? It is because these media are paid by the power groups. A leaked footage of show on “Dunya News” in which Mubashir Luqman and Mehar Bukhari conducted planted the interview with Malik Riaz. In this show in the commercial break talk about with the Malik Riaz to be asked the planted questions. Mubashir Luqman said to Malik Riaz,”give me Villa as you gave to the Hamid Mir”. This show portrayed the dual face of the anchors how Hamid Mir and Mubashir Luqman are making fool to the audience. Anchor sold them to businessmen, politicians and religious groups. No one is clear. Public watch them and think out they are doing this for them.
Meanwhile All Pakistan newspapers society and council of Pakistan newspapers editors have never opposed the policies of paying the expenses of the journalists accompanying officials on national and international tours .journalist are enjoying the benefits of the close association with the officials.
Last year about 21 journalists were exposed in allegation of receiving handsome bribe from Ex-Prime Minister Gillani.

Conclusion:
The Pakistani private channels are just the source of business for their owners whose aims are to earn profit in handsome amount. They act as watchdog in the race of competition with other channels by proving that they are serving the nation in the optimum way. They act as lapdog for sake of maximum profit by distorting their duties and accountabilities. These channels aims are not to serve the nation but to serve the owners.

Though you have tried to cover the topic very well but you have focused on private TV channel . Name any public TV channel then give comparison between private and public tv channel . You have covered the role of private TV channels very well but what your conclusion should be ? It might be of watchdog or lapdog depending on their performance. You have told about Elections but PTV announced result of elections after the election commission announcement and private TV channels have announced when result of one polling station was out , out of 100 polling Tv station which changed the mindset of people who are sitting in front of the Tv who did not have casted the vote or private channels have molded the opinion on dictation . So how their role is of watchdog instead of lapdog . If Geo have shown footage of illegal actions it has posed on one day as a normal activity , when issue raised by other channels ,then Geo claimed it is first channel who disclosed the information , if social medias had not disseminated such videos , then that issues was put down without any noise . You can compare Mubashir Luqman with Hamid Mir in this context . If you will start your answer by giving a strong stance like its role is of lapdog instead of presenting both sides and not justifying your stance properly , then less marks would be awarded. If I would start this topic then I will say private TV channels role is of lapdog whereas public TV channel is of watchdog focusing on these lines will try to delineate other facts which will show my clarity or my opinion is well shaped like I am on debate and have to focus on one side

Please check my attempt, and pin point the mistakes which have been committed by me. I would be thankful to you in anticipation...
Beside this, you are doing commendable job. From today, I shall be attempting every question with you. There is a need of collaboration and coordination among the members to continue this discussion....

Focusing on one side just is not effective tool of attempting it and even personalized the situation . Instead of beating around one bush , make a sticky notes which have different aspects ; even you may divide the topic into four aspects like political , economical , sociological, and idealogical caused . Among these four points you have to present each point with various sub points . It will present a well balance approach which will enable to get 14+ or even 16+ plus marks in papers . It will give length to your question as well along with balanced presentation .

I encourage you efforts of solving the question. Do you know one thing that even people have ample of knowledge but they can not express their ideas and thoughts in the demanded and required ways. Practice makes man perfact. so keep try to solve the questions. Nevertheless, in first paragraph of introduction of PR , the advertisement and PR seem to be mixed. you had to focus on the given defination of PR in the question which does not seem completly in your answer. Ther term is the question like "deleberate", "planned","sustained" do not seem in your answer. you had to elaborate the meaning of the question's defination of PR ,and it should had to revolve around the entire answer of the question, completlety does not seem.
one thing more examples which are the actual ingredients of the answer , not given by you in your answer. I hope you have gotten the my points. Apart from this you can criticise on my opinions. Best of luck dear.

It was my first attempt. You are right that most of the people having ample knowledge could not answer the question. However, I also lack in practice. As far as the above question attempting of mine is concerned, I just read your question and made a general idea and attempted without preparation. Therefore I could not perform well. It is just an attempt without preparation, ... Now, in the new questions, after reading some related stuff, will attempt my answer.. Again I am highly thankful to you f0r such a productive suggestion sweet dear... ....and even I don't know that how much work is required in English composition. This is my tutiphuti English.. Q6) how ‘Print Media’ is so important in Pakistan society after the development of “electronic Media”? Argue in detail.

Mass media : diverse technologies are used to communicate information to the mass by employing the process of mass communication. It includes print media, electronic media and more recently social media.

Traditionally, for centuries information has been disseminated to the wider public by the use of print media including newspapers, books, journals, magazines etc. However, in the recent times, advancement in science and technology have revolutionized the base of information sharing and electronic media has emerged as a strong competitior to the print media. Electronic media uses electricity or electromechanical waves to help the audience get an access to content. However, in Pakistan, print media is still very strong.
Importance of print media in Pakistan
Recently, a private research company MEMRB conducted a survey and found that 14 million Pakistani read newspaper atleast once a week. This finding is at par with the international publication, top 10 of everything in 2011, which confirmed that Pakistan is in the list of ten countries with the highest circulation of newspapers. In Pakistan, newspapers are dominated by jang whereas, daily dawn is the most popular English newspaper.

Why print media?

There are many social, cultural and humanistic factors responsible for the strong selling of newspapers in Pakistan.

a) Newspaper culture: print media has played an important role in the creation of Pakistan in the form of zamindar, inqilab, hamdard, tehzib ulakhlaq etc. as a result, it has developed roots in the country. Still, there are many families which start their day in the morning with newspaper reading.

b) Power outages: Pakistan is witnessing worst energy crises with unscheduled loadshedding in rise. In such circumstances, people cannot rely on electronic media as a source of information. But newspapers can still be used to provide information.

c) Portability: electronic media depends upon electricity. Not all electronic media equipments can be carried along anywhere and everywhere. However, newspapers can be carried to any place.

d) Genuine news: electronic media faces a lot of competition. In order to win the mad race, they do not bother to verify news and just broadcast it from anywhere. On the other hand, newspapers have some policy and they often print news that is authentic and duly verified.

e) Quality of news : audience usually complains that the quality of news of electronic media is declining day by day. On the other hand, readers usually find printed information more reliable .

f) Cost effectiveness : Pakistan is a developing country. A large majority of the population lives below the standard level. In such conditions, it is not easy for everyone to buy electronic appliances such as Telivisions, computers or even radios. In addition, they have to get electricity connections, internet connections. Overall, newspapers are found to be way too cheap for the consumers than electrical appliances.

g) Repetition: print media has an advantage over electronic media that a news broadcasted on tv, radio cannot be repeated again, but a news printed can be read and re read again till it becomes absolutely clear.

h) Easy on eyes: surveys conducted have concluded that print media is easier to perceive that electronic media. Generally, people report of heaviness and burden on eyes due to watching excessive tv or internet.

i) Deluge of information: newspaper editiors often prioritize news items and present them in an orderly manner with reference to their relevance. On the other hand, tv channels, internet or radio do not classify news on the basis of priority. Audience usually feels a deluge of information storming them all over.

j) Less distraction: due to the advertisements, electronic media offers many distractions to the audience. But the newspaper readers can easily read the whole newspaper without any break and diversion from advertisement or breaking news.

k) Satisfaction: biologists and psychologists have conducted many researchers on print media and electronic media. Studies have shown that people do not feel full satisfaction even after watching tv, listening to radio or surfing internet for hours. They still miss the process of “reading”.

Critical analysis: progress and advancement is a continuous process. Earlier man heard news through the word of mouth, then came print media, followed by electronic media and subsequently social media. However, print media still has a huge impact on individual’s lives. People still consider it to be an authentic, good quality satisfying source of information.
