A lot of people had started opting for Persian in the last 1,2 years.Maybe that is why FPSC have changed the rules to discourage people from going for it.

For us, CSS 2015 aspirants, this is a huge setback as Persian , if studied thoroughly, could guarantee 150 marks.

Such clauses are inserted to provide cover for adding any kind of instructions in the exam.Further, if it were an operative clause,FPSC would not have added "or in English/Urdu" in the past.

I saw the paper of Persian for the first time. My Lord - How can one ask to write an essay in English or Urdu on Pak-Iran relations in a paper of Persian?

I didnt- even in my dreams- thought that such scenarios exist. Thats a joke of the day for me.

And the very reason to believe that FPSC has now, at least for the sake of improving the quality of the exam, decided to remove that English/Urdu phrase.

Essays like the one you mentioned are supposed to be written in Persian only.

So that means you will not be able to attempt the paper if you know only a little Persian?

What I gather from this is that the entire Persian paper will be required to be solved in Persian in CSS 2015.

Seniors are requested to shed light on this.Thank you.
I have been through the CE-15 Syllabus in detail and haven't found the phrase "The Question Papers in Urdu or other Pakistani regional languages..." anywhere at all. It's easier to find phrases in PDF by putting CTRL+F to good use.

Yes, what I did find out is as follows:

"Candidates opting languages will be asked to answer some
questions in the language concerned and will be expected to have
knowledge of the Principal Authors, both Classical and
Contemporary and to be able to compose in the language and
translate from it into English and vice versa."

I have also attached an image grab of the updated CE-15 Syllabus so that there remains no ambiguity of any sort!

Wishing all of us the best of luck for the upcoming exams!

Regards!

CSS Rules and CSS syllabus are two separate documents and are in 2 separate files on the FPSC website.

Please check the CSS Rules and NOT the Syllabus!
