Q: what are the determinants of perception? determinants of perception(any 5 out of 8)

sorry mam u r guiding in a wrong way ........... ap all chapter ki outline mention kar ka students ko confuse kar rahi ha plz u should mention just factors/ Determinations plz typ and theories ki out mat dah to the point answer da

there r just factors basssssss no types no theories no more

students r confuse about Determinations

so i shal talk to the point read all which hv been mentioned in css syllabus

they r just factors don't mention types in them that is wrong..
there are just factors.. factors n types different things ha same ni ap na to bora chapter ki outline mention ki ha

But paper ma ono na koi sa 5 posha ha out of 8 ap 8 factors/ Determinations ka just name likha ga then on ma sa just 5 ki detail likha ga bass . css syllabus ma ono na factors ko mix up ka ka da dia ha jo students jo factors samajna ma confuse kar rah ha

koi sa bi 5 out of 8......... ya factors mix up ha
1...Needs,
2...attitudes,
3...sets,
4.. values
5..intrest
6..Proximity
7.. Similarity
8..set
9…emotional
10..suggestion
11..culture
12…social norms etc

Otherwise inh ki just 3 categories ha

1..Objective factors
Gestalt's law of organization aha ga all law ya law objective factors bi kahlata ha
Proximity
~ Similarity
~ Continuity
~ Closure
~ Part-whole relationship etc

2..Subjective factors
Needs, attitudes, values, personality , emotional , suggestion, interest , etc jin ka link just 1 person ka sath hota ha as individual Subjective factors hota ha

3..Social factors
Inherent, culture, norms etc

Inh 3 categories ma sa koi sa bi 5 nikal kar likh da but better ha jo css syllabus ma dia ha ap 1st who wala likha

examples koi fazool ni dahni according to factor dahni ha just for length ma na 3 ya 4 examples mention karna ko kaha ha ........ jab just 5 Determinations posha jahta ha to just 5 hi likhna ha os ka lia ap ko example zayada karni perti haa others lenght ni banti question ki problem is this..................

some question just confuse karta ha ............or koi masla ni ha

Determinations ka lia just Determinations bahtana ha pora perception ka chapter ni as u mentioned in ur outline.............. students r just confuse Determinations kia ha woh just just factors haa..........

this????

i have written so many times 3 i think
almas has given outline of perception.determinants are those as i have mentioned or noor.
@almas
dear almas you have, psychology the science of mind and behaviour by richard gross
i have that book , you just mentioned the outline as in chapter of perception of that book. your answer in the context of determinants is bit lengthy and contains extra details. on perception as a whole, yes that was very good.
but look at the syllabus, the way question is being asked.
also consult dictionary of psychology that too has same determinants

guys i hope this is settled now. don't take it personally, just cooperate ,otherwise no use of this. we are here to correct ourselves so we prepare the right material.
best of luck and reply to the next questions :)

@ noor 2009

i have told in other post in other thread i repeat it for you here

i am using morgan and king as my baseline book
i read from other books and add on king's book
its like from where i better understand the topic
i have done fragments of topics and follow them so its bit easy and you rarely miss anything, its like general ideas to have

i read or rather consult following books

zimbardo and gerrig's psychology and life
weiten themes and variations
essentials of understanding psychology by feldman
encyclopedia psychology
abnormal psychology by neil
developmental psychology notes sage series
psychology guide ,its rough notes of my sister
understanding psychology by taylor
psychology the science of mind and behavior by richard gross
psychology by david myers
dictionary of psychology(1 of penguin and other one is a big one i don't know the publisher of it)

i don't read all of them, cannot do it not possible. just pick anyone and add details in king and then cross check with another book.check the syllabus ,done with a topic when requirement is fulfilled.
so it becomes comprehensive notes. extensive study let me clear my concepts as well.but i keep syllabus in front so i stick to it.

well doc
yes i have mentioned the topics from the book coz i find the book very helpful and the best one on the subject.

the way question is asked?????well as far as i have studied and know and jahan tak my nerves work, i think the material is still lacking and not lengthy....
thats y i just gave the material from the book cos it almost not all but almost covers all the concerns.....
its you who has to mould the concepts according to the questions being asked.....

hope u got me my bro....
thats the way i study,,may be u ppl r not getting me.
i just prepare the topic, try to understand its basics and details, and then answer the question in a way required.

but if u say, i'll post the answer (the way it shud be as u say) for you people:)

keep praying for me my bros and sis (noor) :)

regards!!

@ Almas and Noor

Thanks.

And can you please shed some words on:
Perceptual development
Emotional development
Emotional patterns

And is intellectual development same as cognitive development?

@ almas

so nice of you
look we have to follow syllabus and answer according to question being asked.
otherwise we cannot satisfy ourselves (so much knowledge,so much can be written,so much can be added).so we have to be precise and answer accordingly.
yes we have to answer according to our knowledge.but what is required is a discussion so we write the exact answer required.
give outline,
now if one has his knowledge one will write according to right outline
what is an outline ,for me it is an outline which examiner is holding to give you marks
one who checks the paper does not have time to read your paper,a quick view and an outline comes in his mind, the closer it resembles the key he is having the more marks you score
i repeat we are here to correct our mistakes, clear our concepts, and solve the papers

well well sis app to ghusay main nazar arahi hain :D

well see my sis, first of all. y shud i guide u in the wrong way???any benefit for me???

see the same question had confused me too when i was preparing for my papers.
what u and others are saying is just what i m saying and have posted......

u people want the ready made answers which is to be very honest immaturity at this level.......
yes i have given the outline from the book cos thats the answer to your question....what else shud i have given you all?????????

i have studied perception in very detail when preparing for the paper, believe me now u ppl r getting confused so much...the same was my condition but what i wrote to u ppl is what i m cent percent sure is right. what differs is the way you "perceive" it and the way i perceive it........................

hope u got me.
u r just mentioning them under different headings, i have just given them with no headings....thats all.

and well as far as my brain works,,,,,,,,u must know the theories....
theories are where from where ur perception determinants have emerged...
still if u r not satisfied,,u r free not to follow what i m saying....

and yes u r most welcome not to mention the examples :D

most welcome my sis.....but for me examples are the most part of ur answer..

i posted here to be of some help to u ppl......but its creating mess and confusion for no good...........

and again believe me or not................
my answer to ur question is cent percent right and CORRECT.
dont look for the easy way, psychology is a science and u shud study each and every details...again i wud ask u to go through the topic in detail...
the only problem is u r confusing urself by not getting the material the way it shud be....

regards!!!

paper I 2009
Q4: Introduce the various theories of learning and Explain the concepts of classical conditioning.
paper I 2003
3. Give a comprehensive account of primary (major) and secondary parameters for including a desired response through Conditioning.
paper I 2006
2. What is AVOIDANCE CONDITIONING? Describe as to how, if at all, this can be used to reduce the alarming rate of road accidents.
paper I 2002
3. How is “Shaping” used to condition a new response? In what ways principles of operant conditioning can be used for improving educational techniques?

now perception is being done lets try these questions
show same interest in answering these

-----------------

paper I 2009
Q4: Introduce the various theories of learning and Explain the concepts of classical conditioning.

Theories of learning
There are 6 main theories
Behaviorism
Confined to observable and measurable behavior
Learning is defined by the outward expression of new behaviors
Focuses solely on observable behaviors
A biological basis for learning
Classical Conditioning - Pavlov
Operant Conditioning - Skinner
Cognitivism
Grew in response to Behaviorism
Knowledge is stored cognitively as symbols
Learning is the process of connecting symbols in a meaningful & memorable way
Studies focused on the mental processes that facilitate symbol connection
Bruner said anybody can learn anything at any age, provided it is stated in terms they can understand.
Meaningful Verbal Learning New material is presented in a systematic way, and is connected to existing cognitive structures in a meaningful way.

Social Learning Theory
Grew out of Cognitivism
Learning takes place through observation and sensorial experiences
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
SLT is the basis of the movement against violence in media & video games
Learning From Models -
Albert Bandura
1. Attend to pertinent clues
2. Code for memory (store a visual image)
3. Retain in memory
4. Accurately reproduce the observed activity
5. Possess sufficient motivation to apply new learning

Social Constructivism
Grew out of and in response to Cognitivism, framed around metacognition
Knowledge is actively constructed
Learning is…
1. A search for meaning by the learner
2. Contextualized
3. An inherently social activity
4. Dialogic and recursive
5. The responsibility of the learner
Lev Vygotsky
Social Learning Zone of Proximal Development
Multiple Intelligences
Grew out of Constructivism, framed around metacognition
H. Gardner (1983 to present)
All people are born with eight intelligences
Brain-Based Learning
Grew out of Neuroscience & Constructivism
D. Souza, N. Caine & G. Caine, E. Jensen (1980’s to present)
12 governing principles
Just to mention other theories of learning
Humanist
Learning is dependent upon meeting a hierarchy of needs (physiological, psychological and intellectual)
Learning should be reinforced.
Situated Learning (J. Lave)
Subsumption Theory (D. Ausubel)
Conditions of Learning (R. Gagne)

concept of classical conditioning
definition of classical conditioning
pavlov experiment
chart of
us---response ucr
cs--- no response
us +cs ---response
cs---- response cr

few implementation of classical conditioning

total pages may reach 6-7 for this answer, give main concept of theories with one to two examples

theories of learning can also be divide into behaviourism, cognitivism, social learning and humanist in a broad sense
