Default does Feldman contain adequate information

Dear fellows,

I would like to inquire from those who have taken Psychology, is the course content in Feldman sufficient as per our syllabus. Like if i do the chapter of personality or motivation and emotions, does that cover our syllabub well or still there is some need?

Feldman does'n contain Industrial Psychology, Group Psychology and a very few other topics. But 90% course can be covered thru Feldman's book.

NOT AT ALL.. In fact i have not come across any book of psychology which would have contents covering the contents of course give by FPSC. And this is one of the reason why i gave up on Psychology.
Unlike other subject you can not prepare this subject from books. As a matter of fact, i had three books i.e. Feldman, Zimbardo and Atkinson, and even going through those three big book i was not being able to cover even the first paper of Psychology. Topics like different theories of motivations and alike can only be found on internet and even that is differently projected by different websites.
I really worked hard initially for psychology and albeit i m myself a doctor i realised that it was not a best choice.
Besides, we have a whole list of other BETTER subjects to go for. Therefore if u want to learn from other's experience, i'd not recommend you this subject.

I never took any course in Psychology but I liked it. So I opted it for CSS and got 80 marks in Ps-I in CSS-2009 and 60 in Psy-II. . . Thanks to the Feldman's book which provides 80% of the information needed, if not all.

Feldman, will waste so much of your time and you will be able to prepare just half of what you need ! Get some books that are more focused. Feldman is too elementary.

Default @ riazuddin...

Can you please name the book or books that would cover most of the syllabus if not all. Because i've come across any such book. for me even three most authentic books were lacking a lot.

I heard there is a Pakistani female author whose book is good, it's in two parts. Just check out everything in the market. But be focused on the syllabus given by FPSC, and read intermediate or advanced level books, not at all elementary level. Otherwise you cannot cover the various theories.
