Thumbs up Psychosomatic disorder

Hi

I am also preparing for css 2012 and would like to tell you that psychosomatic and somatoform disorder are the same. Even if you search a bit on internet you will get the same answer.

Hira

somatic is related with the body only, and somatic therapies are done to bridge the gap between mind and body, while physio-psychology related to the internal system and chemical processes of the body like the diseases u mentioned above...

psycho somatic disorder: is referred to the physical diseases caused by mental illness.. for example stress causes back ache or ulcers etc

psychosis: it is described as the loss of patient with reality. severe mental disorder in which the patient experiences hallucinations, delusion, changed and bizarre behavior ,loss of social contact and thought disorders.

psychoneurosis: it is a mental disorder characterized by inner struggle and disturbed social relationships. they are caused by conflict, stress and frustration. as it is entirely a psychological disorder, physical illness is not the cause hence, hospitalization and medicine is not the cure. confinement is not necessary. patients keep on continuing their daily activities. symptoms are anxiety, obsessions, doubts, irrationalfear, irritability, compulsions

personality disorders: are the changes in the behavioral patterns. social and personal disruptions cause the personality disorder.it is inflexible in which the person perceives that behavior appropriate in a situation, hence, it is ego-syntonic(ego integrity of the individual). individual becomes rigid and experiences maladaptive coping skills which further results in anxiety, depression and stress.

hope it will help u out,,regards
