Like many other aspirants I was also confused regarding this question which is often repeated in CSS exams.

The recent trends in psychology are mainly
EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHOLOGY
BEHAVIOURAL GENETICS
CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGY

These are mentioned in Feldman.

Other recent Trends in psychology are

APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY ( new frontiers like market analysis , financial organizations)
PUBLIC POLICY
TECNOLOGICAL ADVANCES IN PSYCHOLOGY.
