Clinical diagnosis is based on two things:
Assessment: Systematically evaluate and measure psychological, biological and social factors in an individual presenting possible psychological disorder.
Diagnosis: process of determining if the perticuler problem meets all criteria for a psychological disorder as in DM4.
Tools
1.Clinical interviews
2.Behavioural Observation
3.Psychological testing(Projective, Inventories, intelligence testing and neuropsychological and psychophysiological tesging)
