Love psychology-It will pay you.

bring creativity in your papers.
differentiate one's paper from others.
bring whole book in a single question
represent maximum on minimum space
represent your data in the form of tables
recent researches.
if you go for sociology with psychology ; quote theories of sociology in psychology and psychology in sociology, as both the subjectcs are complementary for each other
keys
outlines
One must include latest researches, it is not difficult to find , you people just need to go for the abstract of research and quote it in a
etiology, personality, development.
read one book 10 times instead of reading 10 books once. one book complete whole syllabus , but the book should be selected with care and understanding which must be good all the above discussed characteristics
Please don't go for Sherbano or Rakshanda's book even I don't like feldmen.
there are two things perceived reality and ground reality, in perception might be these books cover your whole syllabus and can be a good source to score high, yet ground reality is somehow different. you people got brains understand things. I ve copied paste my old post for those who couldn't get to it. There are two things again 1. to follow the subject 2. to love the subject.. Love this subject it will be yours

hey listen carefully, dnt go for rumors, people who use to say that Psychology is disastrous, i can do nothing for them except smiling upon their innocent feelings. there year paper was not difficult . It would be more appropriate to say Psychology's papers creative rather difficult and disastrous . And so far i think , first time in the history of CSS such a creative paper has been asked. There is a huge difference between creative and difficult papers. Psychology's papers were up to the standard of CSS.
I want to ask from my fellows if such papers are not made what would be the standard? How can one differentiate between a standard preparation and a poor preparation? Don't you people want to differentiate yourself from those people who used to study 20-20 question series, Sherbano, Rakshanda, exam Cram ? If such type of questions are not asked guys who read such rubbish would be equal to those who used to read standard material?
what about those who made selective studies? Do you people want selective readers and to the point readers would enjoy equivalent status?
you know what happened this year in Psychology, all those who make are habitual of making selective studies are ruined to nothing , also who study below standard text were unable to give themselves a solid stand against the blows of Psychology.
There was 100% choice against questions which are moulded, but what can one expect from those who make selective studies, and leave portions like social Psychology?

For instance, if difficult question is asked from Nervous system , Social Psychology is always there as an substitute , and this year simple question is asked about "attitude" from Social Psychology. What else one needs?
Same happened in Paper 2.

Patron is not changed , FPSC had asked nothing out of syllabus, everything was very much under the paradigms of syllabus , prescribed by them. What happened this year, FPSC asked unexpected questions , but why don't you people understand those questions are the part of your syllabus .

My advice for you is that don't go for rumours, rumours are without logic, i scored twice more than 160 in Psychology , without any background, i even never studied biology in my whole life . contact me on mail for further queries.
Regards

actually , this edition is exactly according to the pattern of Psychology. in my opinion the summarization of topics in the form of flowcharts is the best in 5th ed as compare to the latest one.

Feldman can give 160 with a bit of help from different sources.
Even Feldman alone can fetch 160, depending on paper .
Easy to read , revise and refine . It Was sufficient for both feb and August papers 2013 for me .
One has to study 8 to 10 subjects , don't want 170 in psychology and failures in others. Especially for first timers , just stick to Feldman as it can take at least a month to get hold of Feldman , revisions and additions can take longer .

A combination of feldman and sherbano really works well.. For topics, not found in these books, one can search on net and find sufficient material. I myself is going with psychology. No matter what people says.. Under clouds,, disaster etc but i am hopeful for psychology..

please someone clarify my biggest query?

psychoneurosis/neurosis covers only anxiety disorders( GAD,phobia, panic,OCD,PSTD AND ACUTE STRESS DISORDER ) only

psychosomatic includes somatoform disorders(briquet's syndrome, convrsion disorder, hypochondriases, pain disorder and body dysmorphic disorder) only

psychosis (schizphrenia, paranoi, depression, dementia associated with aging) only
personality disorder has three clusters A,B,C
CLUSTER A INCLUDES PARANOIA,SCHIZOID AND SCHIZOTYPAL ONLY
CLUSTER B INCLUDES NARCISSITIC,HISTRIONIC,ANTISOCIAL AND BIPPOLAR DISORDER ONLY
CLUSTER C INCLUDES AVOIDANT,DEPENDENT AND OCD
is all this information correct? apart from this is there any other topic important and relevant diseases/disorder in clinical psychology left to be covered? kindly respond because each thread earlier posted has its unique classification of disorders.

thanks a lot for your guidance dear but i attended kips academy last year and they said one shouldn't refer to sheherbano because every one writes from there.i have quoted the classification from zareen bukhari. can you please tell me where i can get names of all the topics of clinical psychology only?are mood disorders, dissociative disorders and conduct disorders also included in the syllabus?

marxpakistani Wednesday, September 18, 2013 11:41 PM

Psychology books priority wise

1. Understanding psychology Robert S feldman
2. Psychology by Rakhshanda shahnaz.

I feel that u r ill adviced by someone don't get bogged down on clinical psychology only it is of little significant. Focus more on development psychology and psycho metrics.
Important topics on clinical psychology r
1:Psychological disorders
2:Coping
3:Therapy

shoaib khan12 Tuesday, October 22, 2013 12:55 AM

from this chapter in previous 13 years these type of questions were asked:
tools for clinical diagnosis
criteria for maladaptive behaviour
DSM IV now DSM 5
anxiety disorders
mood disorder
schizophrenia
personality disorders
psychosomatic vs somato form disorders.

regarding priorities
paper 11 is like this

1.MCQs
2.development
3.development
4. disorders
5.therapies
6. intelligence and mental retardition
7. juvinile delinquency, drug addiction, sexual offences, industrial psychology
8. short answers any 4

now depending upon diagrams , flowcharts, keys, tables, sketches, applications , thoughts, creativity
you should go for
1. mcqs
2. disorders
3.therapies
4. intelligence
5. short answers ( 5 questions completed)

if there is any problem ,
one should go for juvinile delinquency, drugaddiction , ( in past 13 years 13 times question of juvenile delinquency was asked, under same heading,k biological and sociological factors)

it doesnt mean you shouldnt go for development . cover it out but first go for priorities. try to leave research question because applied form is mostly asked that is difficult to elaborate , . secondly research also confines one .

shoaib khan12 Tuesday, October 22, 2013 01:00 AM

please go for my newest post .

please dont mix psychosomatic and somatoform disorders. there is a hell of difference in both, do consult wayne's book for this.
now the trend of unexpected questions is in, so also go for

tools of clinical diagnosis
DSM5
criteria for abnormality
according to DSM5 published in may 2013 by APA , criteria for schizophrenia is totally changed , also consider it.
regards

Ozia Tuesday, June 10, 2014 10:46 AM

is Psychology: Themes and Variations edition 5 easily available from book stores in pakistan?

mazkhan Sunday, June 29, 2014 09:18 PM

as i got through ce-2014 papers i came with conclusion that fpsc have organized papers for critical thinkers so i advise aspirints a few points..
-don’t stick to a specific book either browse internet to study a field especially latest research and practical apps
-un expected questions like that of emotional intelligence in ce-2014 can be asked in upcoming exam
-have a full command on neurology as it can fetch yu solid marks
-study introduction to psychology by morgan since it have more scientific approach
