Psychology Paper-I Preparation

Hello seniors!
I want to know that if someone prepare:
1. Introduction
2. Schools
3. CNS, PNS
4. Sensation
5. Perception
6. Learning
7. Socialization(for short notes)

then is it enough for Paper-I or I should also study Motivation, Emotion and Personality too? :thinking

After seeing 2013 paper , leaving any topic is not going be a good decision . You would have to do all topics to be at a safe side .

Dear , you cannot leave any topic on choice. But if you still wishes to do so then do prepare "PERSONALITY & MOTIVATION"must. These are very important topics in Psychology paper 1:
1.schools of though.
2. Learning.classical and Operant conditioning
3.motivation.
4.Personality
5.sensation and perception
6.Emotion
you can leave C.N.S on choice but not these topics.
wish you best of luck.

Nearly every year a question comes from brain portion . So , it would not be wise to skip this portion .

Paper 1 breakdown , regarding Questions in Exam , nearly goes like this :

Question 1 : School of Thoughts , Introduction to Psychology
Question 2 : Brain and spinal cord ( Central Nervous System )
Question 3 : Learning
Question 4 : Personality
Question 5 : Sensation and perception 'OR' Motivation and emotions
Question 6 : Social Psychology ( Group , Attitudes , Prejudice etc )
Question 7 : Short Notes .

In some papers , one question from a topic was skipped , and Motivation and emotions and sensation and perception both were there as question 4,5 or 6 . So , nearly every topic comes in part 1 . But learning , personality , school of thoughts and central nervous system are most important ones .

Brother Amlish

Do not go for selective study of psychology-1 at all.
Check out the 2013 paper, it was totally conceptual. Even most confident aspirants sitting beside us were thinking how to formulate exact answers.
Just go through all material and get yourself equipped with only the concepts of all topics.
No need of rote learning at least in paper 1 because everybody would write the same bookish material on schools of thoughts and motivation etc.

P.S : To be more on safe side, try not to do questions on Schools of thoughts and introduction, types of psychology.. :nono . They would not work as marks makers for you.

yes i would fully agree with this. Leaving CNS is not a wise thing to do, plus i am a science student so learning scientific topics is not an issue for me. Its just the personality and Motivation that i just hate them :D
