Psychology is the study of science because

1.it uses experimental and other methods to verify the results.

2 scientific techniques of study are used to develop theories.

3. systematic way of study.

any subject which involve scientific methods (to prove its hypothesis and pridictions) is placed in category of science subjects.

"Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" its latest version is 5 published in 2012 by American Psychiatric Association. It is used for making diagnosis according to the symptoms of patient. We (psychologist) use this manual for diagnosis.

That's great. I am also interested to discuss psychology. I have read my psychology thrice, also attempted my CSS-2013's papers. And in upcoming attempt I will also have to attempt the psycholgy's papers. So, that's a good decision to repeat it now, as its the need of hour to do.

According to the book that i use(zareen bukhari ) DSM IV TR classification (it has replaced old classification of neurosis and psychosis)
i) anxiety disorders (GAD,PHOBIA,PANIC,OCD,ACUTE STRESS AND PSTD)
ii) psychotic disorders (schizophrenia with its three major types, paranoid, depression and aging)
iii)personality disorders (3 clusters)
cluster I :schizooid,schizotypal and paranoid
cluster II: histrionic, narcissitic, borderline,phobia
cluster III: avoident,dependent,OCD,
iv) mood disorders :unipolar-depression,bipolar -depression mania
v) somatoform disorders: pain disorders, dysmorphophobia, somatization, conversion and hypochondriasis
vi) dissociative disorders: DID(DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER), amnesia, fugue, depersonalization
is this classification ok? what changes have been introduced in the new DSM 5 classification.the whole manual is very complicated.
