Psychology FAQ

It is requested to seniors to shed some light on these issues.
I am aspirant of CE2016 and I am thinking to replace any of the two among Sociology,Journalism and Statistics with Psychology.
I have no formal background in any of these subjects But I have interest in all these 4 subjects . Sociology and Journalism are very theoretical and analytical papers and marking of such papers are mostly subjective, statistics require a lot of practice but on the other hand psychology is scientific paper and I guess one can easily score good marks if his or her concepts are clear.

Please tell me about psychology, does it has huge syllabus and what is the minimum duration of time to cover it for someone like me with no background . and is it true that one can score 140+ with good concepts (I read few chapters on B.A psychology and it was very easy for me to grasp concepts ) .

i also have no background of psychology at all.but i took it.though it is quite lengthy but it can give you huge score if prepared well.
but do not reply only on one book.must include other authors as well and broaden your knowledge as it is a competitive exam and people are coming with maximum knowledge must broad your preparations and must make your own notes on the topics.
divide your course into topics and start preparing topic wise.
analyse past papers and see the questioning trends as there are many topics that seems harmless and examiner asks questions with full detail

replace journalism and stat with Psychology , reason is that sociology an dpsychology both are interlinked , upto 90 % sociology one can cover in psychology
one can quote sociology into psychology and psychology into sociology
if you go for sociology you dont have to study much
what i ve understood from the latest trend of sociology papers examiners are asking questions from the sociol psychology

if you study both these subjects you will make your answers more and more creative
for me its the best combination
but you will only come across the worth of this combination if you study some foreign author book
witho out that book you are zero
the main thing also the focus of examiner is on the applied form which can only be learnt by the foreign author
local publishers and authors will let you down like nothing
i had this combination and it paid me alot
i went with psycholgy in 2013 attempt and i scored 141 .
go for these subjects witout any hesitation
a little bit systematic and technical studies are required
rest you can ask

I do refer foreign authors in both mentioned subjects. But when it comes to sociology they talk about their own respective social norms, culture etc and we have to talk about our Pakistani society how can we rely only on foreigners? yes I do love foreigners at least they write comprehensive language with facts. Local authors just copy those.

Gentleman with due respect , what are they asking now , have you gone through from papers ? these are the latest concepts due to evolving social norms and themes . you are right they ask you about the local concepts , for instance they can ask you Feudalism everybody can million pages on feudalism in Pakistan , now the new form of feudalism itself has been changed , now it has been transformed from the medieval feudalism to corporate feudalism , and which exist in Pakistan , for example central bankers , #
big bankers
corporate elites
elected officials
top bureaucrates
top professionals
than everyone else
your respect able local authors and writers and local publishers are far behind from these conccepts ,
there feudalism has been confined just to
who is Musali, who is zamindar, who is malik etxxx
we are needed to describe pakistan in above discussed termonalgies and , we are supposed to discuss changing media dynamics

these books were written along ago , now the concepts has been changes

go for foreign author books , we have same conditions like them, if they have interest groups so have we. just change the names .
furthermore , ii am just givining my opinions dont want to counter anybody's ideas , if you like it go for it if you dont , even dont bother it
regards

Shoaib, Do you believe in the concept of scoring trend? As a large majority of candidates are opting Psychology, isn't it likely that FPSC would be placing it on the hit list in CE-2015? And what foreign authors' books do you recommend for this subject? Kindly guide in this regard. Can you initiate a separate thread for providing general guidelines to the aspirants in all the other subjects as well?

i dont believe in this concept , comon dear this is something which is absolutey rubbish , no need to get involve in these rumors , if you have done some good and solid no body can fail you ,
i believe in the reality that might be FPSC can ask their examiners to get more conceptual and donot give a single mark to those who write irrelevent , they can be asked to give unexpected questions ,

the only thing is to get in love with the subject and once you get in love with the subject you will automaticaly be able to describe with each and every aspect of the subject

i dont know how to use this forum as much , just can reply , my details are given further you can ask anything
it will be more to ask specific questions
