The early schools of psychology were the pillars of psychology on which the whole knowledge of psychology based. Each defined human behavior from a different aspect. they were structuralism, functionalism, gestalt, behaviorism and psychoanalysis. Up till around mid twentieth century the discoveries made by these schools had become part of general store of psychological knowledge and the schools as such vanished. Now different modern approaches of psychology to understand human behavior include psychoanalysis, behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, neurobiological etc.//// reference: Morgan and King
