punjabi is good scoring subject but as we are not aware that how to write punjabi words so it damage our good marks in punjabi but this problem can be overcame by reading and afterward writing. As you mentioned that you dont have background in punjabi so for developing interest in punjabi i will suggest you that a book series by the name of Sufi Wisdom is the best.

punjabi is scoring optional subject. I opted in the css exams 2010. paper was easy. dont think that punjabi is difficult to read and write, its easy and one week complete prepration for punjabi is more than enough. make your own notes it will help you in writing punjabi.

i have opted for Punjabi too and need guidance.
how are you planning to start this subject and which books are required?
it would be better if we discuss it here regularly and it would be beneficial for all aspirants opting for punjabi.

what about having a daily online class of punjabi and prepare it???

it is the general observation that punjabi is a high scoring subject; and it is also the major general observation that you have to pay the price of English A and B( punjabi touch aata hai english main phir; the fact examiner abhor); observations... you may differ
sincere advice sister hina; try to opt subjects that reinforce other subjects...inspite of cancelling each other's effect by the principle of symmetry
