Well sir, if u are talking about pashto proverbs and their translation then accordng to my little knowledge one shud first go for their english equivalant proverbs like (for "Bal ta masaley kavi pakhpala pe hamley kavi" equivalent is "Nearer to the church farther from God" etc) but if u couldn't find such proverbs in English then simply go for the translation as i have posted above.
"Pohana" is a good book for this. also search net for proverbs.

Regards,

If u write the exact english equivelent for the pashto Matal the well and good but if u dont find any then done worry, simple translation can work, do write simple translation in that situation.

ROHI MATALOONA by Muhammad Nawaz tahir is a good and only book in this regard. The original text is a bit expensive BUT Pashto acadmy shop in Peshawar University can solve this problem also. Here the well binded photocopy of this book is available just for rupees 150.
