Pashto Basics for a pashto speaker.
Salam.
Hope you all to be in good health. I am a Pashto speaker who can read pashto, but cant write. I opted pashto assuming that it will be easy for me to write and read pashto well after a little effort. Kindly suggest some books considering my present stature in pashto. i will be thankful. Peace. Hasan. |
Your best bet is to search for material online.
Read news articles and see how they write every word. It's important to note when, for instance, ښ is used instead of خ, when ږ is used instead of ګ, when ځ is used instead of ز, when څ is used and so on. Two resources that will help you in this are the Mashal Radio website and the online Pashto keyboard. That is how I learnt to write in the Pashto alphabet, which is very different from the Urdu version. |

Hasan.
Don't worry. you will be able to read and write pashto in no time. just buy the Pohana Book and go through it. You will yourself develop the skill of reading and writing Insha Allah :) |
It would not take long. Try to write a paragraph or two daily, on things that surround you. Try to memorize poetry from prominent poets like Rahman Baba, Amir Hamza Shinwari and Khushal Khan Khattak.
Buy the Book 'POHANAH', the best book around for Pushto preparation for CSS and PMS. You will find the entire syllabus in it. Cheers! |
