need help about sociology

hello, I am nageen. I want to appear in css exam 2009. one of my optional subject is sociology.I'm doing self study, so sometimes cant understand the topic.e.g. in the syllabus the topic is "social forms" . I could'nt find it in books and on internet . so Iam confused whether it means social structure or social system or something else.Please guide me and elaborate the term, and please tell me the books and sources to get exact information.

Well,if u opted sociology as optional,then do get 'Hunt n Horton's' book for conceptual depth into subject and imtiaz shahid or syed akbar's for applying sociology to pak problems ....thats more than enuf i blv....

As for ur term 'Social forms',i doubt it being purely a sociological term..nevertheless,it denotes societal type,or social type....Sociology being enormously conceptual, i take it as refering to 'basic norms/values of a society'...or,say a society's typical ways n means of behavior generally or in certain situations...Well,Social forms,m still confused to tell u the truth n wondering where did u find such social forms...??

hello dear..though i m also new to this forum and like to know about sociology too.. i cant answer to your question..and rather ask u question...tht wht should be studied regarding social thougths..

Social Form is another name for social system. (according to best of my knowlodge) The examiner sometime try to confuse the examinee through these types of terms that are little used. So be alert !
