How to answer questions related to Sociological research

hello friends,

There is a separate chapter with regard to sociological research in sociology.

But a careful review of past papers suggests that the questions related to this topic are not very straightforward. i mean, how are we supposed to answer questions like, what research methodoly should we use to study young criminals, drug addicts, HIV/AIDS patients, human behaviour etc and internal validity and probability and non-probability sampling...

kindly enlighten

Sociological Research definitely contains some stages and types to conduct research and Every social dealt with particular social research tool, therefore, the questions come to how to deal that particular problem.
For example: Here are the Sociological Research methods, Surveys, Observation, Experiments, Case studies, Interviews, Research designs. The Examiner wants to know by which research method and how to deal with that specific problem.

CASE STUDY method is used to study the young criminals, drug addict, aids patients and human behaviour. Read any book on social research methods for details.
Probability and non-brobalility are 2 different sampling techenques used to select sample out of universe. You can find details of them in any basic book on sampling techenques in social sciences.
internal validity. not sure, will have to consult book.

Yes spiderman is right. You people should learn basics instead of running after notes. I am not in touch with study these days but i know there are several books available on research methodolgies. Horton and hunts's "Methods of research in social sciences" was very popular then. And i never prepared notes for any exam in my life as i used the method of noting just the importand points on a piece of paper and reviewing them before the exam. :shy I used my own words maximum in exams and that gives a unique touch to the papers in the eyes of examiner.
