For sociology I'm done with making notes of my own (I have made general questions covering almost all the related aspects of the topic, the important ones I have done it in more detail) using Taga, VU lecture book, and couple of other materials! Though I haven't learned or memorized it as yet, that I would a month before exam! But for now I have my notes with me. Actually I have this bad habit that I can't follow stuff until or unless I write it myself so I have to follow it up the hard way lol! At the moment I'm doing the same for public ad. & International law, probably I'll be done with public ad. within a week InshAllah! What about you, How much you've done?

i haven't done anything at all! i just have muslim law and Intl Law background, that's all! i decided to take the css exams a month back, im not even fully decided on my optionals as yet. this will be my maiden attempt. CSS is so much ratta and matric style exam pattern, and im not a ratta person at all, i hve no concept of using headings and pointers to answer. which book are you consulting for Intl Law?

Relevant headings & dividing your answer in sections with each section of course commencing with a well crafted & significant title makes the answer look organized & helps examiner skim through the pages easily. It's importance is undeniable.

I'm afraid I can't do this since it requires time & effort which are both very scarce my side especially after the commencement of CTP. I'm hopeful that any serious aspirant who intends to do the work him/herself would find it convenient to update & enhance its utility.

Regards,

CSS is no more a ratta if you look at past papers of 2012 and 2011. They have been more and more conceptual ones. I can easily quote my practical experience of 2012 attempt as I banked on my personal opinions and general knowledge and surpassed my own expectations during the exams. Now I have my fingers crossed for the allocation but Alhamdolillah I passed written exam with Allahz supreme help only

Yeah I know what you are saying, I was having the same problem as well, not adapt to this technique as well! But I guess all that ratta and useless headings are so lame and a waste. There is no point filling the ans with headings and writing meaningless underneath! Lol I guess if you avoid unnecessary headings then examiner would have no option to read your ans and if you write relevant, without lame explanation and in line with the topic, then its a bull's eye for you.
And I think you have ample time to prepare if you go for it fully, yeah it would be my first attempt as well, and you should prepare it as first and last, if you'll keep second thoughts about that, it would effect quite adversly on your efforts. Make your first the final, don't bother wasting another year on it!
Btw I'm using International law by Malcolm Shaw 5th ed. (I have a softcopy, let me know if you want it!) and audio lectures of VU they are good! And few academy notes that I've got from a friend.
And you can think of Psychology over Geography! Geog would take longer to prepare its comparatively quite lengthy.

Red face

@redmax: thankyou so much!

@asim: congrats! and thanks

@sibshaw: ive asked a couple of seniors( redmax in this thread, hes in dmg!my fav group!), and they highly recommend the use of headings..although i think it's so unfair that the examiner doesnt go through the pain to read the entire question...also, a lot of people have been complaining about the FPSC marking scheme. A student who scored 64 in his english composition paper in his first attempt, scored only 32 in his second attempt*weird*! is psychology easy and scoring? geography is quite lengthy and technical but really helps in EDS and current affairs. For international law, i will use brownlie as the main textbook i studied in LLB, and yes please email me that book...4 months is too short for CSS prep..too many things to remember, dates, names, statistics etc etc..keeping my fingers crossed
