What about Horton and Hunt
 

Can somebody suggest if Horton and Hunt is useful in preparation? and how good it is...

it does not contain all topics
for sociology one should use taga's book or abdullah khurram niazi's book
my 2 friends have bad experiance with horton and hunt

yes taga or abdullah's book can be use for basics
only with taga many people score 70+

i think taga's is more than enough, because in it every thing is explained in detailed especially with the social perspective .

do consult Jhon J Macionis also....its very easy and simple

well horton book is also very good, interesting and covers basic concepts in very interesting way, but it is not enough for whole preparation. Go for horton but cosult taga's book as well. Moreover, vertual uni lectures are also very good. the good thing about VU lectures is it covers issues related to Pakstani society. After listening them one tries to apply basic concepts to real life and this practice increases comprehension of real pakistani society.
