It is basically clash of ideas. There is a thesis and anti-thesis which are in conflict with each other and the result is synthesis which is a compromise between thesis and anti-thesis. This synthesis is infact again a thesis which will have an anti-thesis and process will continue

Basically Hegel served in university of Berlin where he developed his dialectical theory.According to this theory, nothing can survive without its opposite. For example, a salve cannot be a slave without his master.

In University of Berlin Marx teacher, Bauer, introduced him with this theory of Hegel, which impressed Marx.

Following on this pattern Marx and Engel developed the communism as the opposite of capitalism.

This is the reason why it is said that Marx reserved Dialectic theory of Hegel.

Its enough to understand the topic. To study it in detail and for preparation purpose consult the book.

originally, the Dialectical Theory belongs to Hegel. According to Karl Marx, "Hegel's theory is standing on its head". The Hegelian theory says that ideas shape the world and the material world is nothing but an instrument in the hands of ideas or ideologies. He said that a hero by his own efforts can't become a hero but it's the specific flow of ideas that make him so. In a word, his standpoint is that ideas are the real forces and the material world is nothing but its manifestation like Plato did. When one idea emerge in the shape of thesis, it's countered by another idea or ideology and when they both collides, they're synthesised. In the same vein he considered state as a march of God on Earth. Why Karl Marx says that Hegel's theory is standing on its head? Because he considered that it's the material forces that shapes history while the superstructure, composed of religion, culture et al. serves only the sub-structure or material interests. That's why Marx says that religion is the opium for poor, because it serve the interest of the bourgeoisie or industrialists in the exploitation of the labourers. The superstructure is so composed to arrest the evolution of the society and Karl Marx considered that to be the machination of the economically powerful class. Regards
