Opting a subject varies from person to person depending upon his interest...My background helped me alot i the said subject.....If you can better understand sociology than forestry then go for it or vice-versa...I have no clue about forestry though.

I didn't consult any specific book, i have a background in it so didn't need to...however Introduction to Sociology by hameed taga is good book...
