(i selected 1942 because it is written in Politics Among Nations and many other books that cold war actually started in 1942, because Manhattan Project was complete and in 1942 USA attained the status of Nuclear Power, though many people relate the combined effort of USA n S.U against Germany and argue that how can they be in war against each other, but cold war is more psychological less in fact very less physical like any other war but people say cold war started after WW2 i.e in 1946. i think both options are correct but 1942 is more correct)

@mousavir..i checkd the site many mnths back perhaps it was 1999 wen they kidnapped him but i guess they governed frm 1996-1992 aint correct..m desperate after continuous 10 papers so sorry dint recall things well...i wrote the ans in a flow..it was such a detailed paper tht i started wrting just after initial 15 minutes ov the obj time...plz pray!

Dear Sparkofighter, Detente's earlier hints were given in 1960s but It was only started in Nixon regime, and Nixon descibed 'Detente' as a state of cordiality derived from his personal friendship with Brezhnev.

For futher confirmtion you can consult Bookhives's Interanational Relations by Parkash Chander or Wikipedia is another great source.

I think NPT signed in 1968, Wikipedia and many other books support this. If you could mention your source everyone will be grateful. Thanks.

and Taliban emerged as force in 1994, they were unable to hold any legal position and it was only in 1996 they captured and held Kabul to establish legal government, and question states "when they came into power" and my assumption is 1996.
