my essay was on beggars and choosers.

first half of my essay reinforced the argument that yes beggars cannot be choosers. i started from the raymond davis affair, May 2 incident, drone attacks, salala check post , Iran-pak pipeline project.

then i said can pak choose not to beg? i mentioned in affirmative and wrote all the resources in pakistan. like reko diq, saindak, coal , iron ore, gypsum and hydel potential.

then i developed a road map that would break the shackles of slavery.
like broadening the tax base, improving agriculture, role of SMEs, fine tuning of existing system and Cheap production of electricity.

in the end i mentioned all that had been discussed in the essay.
I also attemted beggars cannot be choosers and I think very less people attempted it. I didn't attempt the energy crisis as I thought it is too mainstream and almost everyone was attempting this one.

Beside mentioning almost all the incidents as soloflyer did in the said essay I didn't limit it to pakistan only. I added united nations and the USA also in the list with respect to Israel . Talked about Saudi Arabia. Then Iraq now and sadam regime, Libya today and Qadafi regime. Then I lowered the focus to matrimonial level and discussed a scene where the spouse of one is from very well off place hence one will never be able to play on equal grounds bla bla. Talked about jobs and educational qualifications , the more you are qualified the more wide choice of jobs you get and one can apply for any job if one posses high qualification and similiarly if one has low educational qualifications then his choice of jobs also get restricted and he can't be a chooser then.
Talked about automobiles , compared the JDM cars and similars models being assembled/manufactured in pakistan lacking basic safety features and bla bla.
Talked about afghan refugees and the way they are treated in Pakistan but still they are adamant to stay around. Talked about Fall of Dhaka and then connected it to the current resolution about balochistan by a congressman and hoped that this time we can turn the label of beggars upside down and be choosers. Also added the pak iran gas pipeline and US pressure regarding this. Salala attack and possiblilty of the nato logistic supplies getting resumed. talked about the handicapped new f16 block 52s we recently received. Compared our pre independence era with china and some other countries. Talked about Cuba, venezuela,Iran etc. Compared Kashmir vs Palestine.Talked about PPP govt with reference to the issue of govt and MQM on restoration of pre 2001 district management system and the issue of Kalabagh dam from ANP side.
In the end I gave few recommendations as to how to change the status of being a beggar to a chooser and concluded it on happy and optimistic note.

I talked about many many things but can't recall most of them here.Guess what still my page count was 13 including 2 pages outline. I wonder how people filled 25 pages and they were asking for more sheets?
anyhow best of luck dear members . Please wish me luck pals and remember me in your prayers

I also attempted the Education systems topic.

Brief outline was something on the following lines:

Importance of Education in general

Significance of Education for Pakistan

Brief overview of the Education systems in Pakistan
-Public
-Private
-Madaras
-Private tuition

Current scenario of Education in Pakistan

Factors responsible for the present situation

Critical analysis of the Education systems
-Public vs Private
-Local vs Foreign
-Comparison with US, Eng
-Flaws and benefits identified

The way forward for Pakistan
-Reforms required
-Examples of reforms in other countries
-Importance of said reforms

Conclusion

My emphasis was on private, public and religious systems, and how they should be streamlined and possibly made to work together, since their current working is creating a class divide etc etc...I missed on a few points but was fair.
