Antibiotics, also known as antibacterials, are types of medications that destroy or slow down the growth of bacteria. The Greek word anti means against, and the Greek word bios means "life"

Antibiotics are used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Bacteria are microscopic organisms, some of which may cause illness. The word bacteria is the plural of bacterium.

Such illnesses as syphilis, tuberculosis, salmonella, and some forms of meningitis are caused by bacteria. Some bacteria are harmless, while others are good for us.

How do antibiotics work?
Although there are a number of different types of antibiotic they all work in one of two ways:

A bactericidal antibiotic kills the bacteria. Penicillin is a bactericidal. A bactericidal usually either interferes with the formation of the bacterium's cell wall or its cell contents.

A bacteriostatic stops bacteria from multiplying.

improper use of antibiotics.

Indiscriminate use of antibiotics is nothing new, but as the years go by and more of the global population gains access to medications, the issues surrounding improper usage increase.

Using antibiotics improperly can lead to developing resistance. This means that if you take antibiotics repeatedly, especially when they are not really necessary, they might stop working for you and won’t have any effect once you really do need them. This could lead to infections getting out of hand and jeopardizing your health and even your life.

Additionally, frequent use of antibiotics can harm your liver and kidney health, as well as lead to other serious side effects.

Globally, the improper use of antibiotics leads to serious resistance issues that can even help develop superbugs that affect millions of people.

What did you say, my answer is not related to question, try to find following question on question paper.

Why an indiscriminate use of antibiotics may prove dangerous?

learn to read question paper carefully then write a comment.

This is a good attempt . However , your answer should start from improper use of antibiotics only . No need for writing the meaning of antibiotic or any epidemiology .
If you are new to CSS prep , I may give you a piece of advice brother . The most important aspect that distinguishes a good answer from an excellent one , and a good candidate from a top qualifier is " FOCUS ".just write what is being asked especially in Essay , ENGLISH , current and pak affairs , even in ISLAMIAT .
For example PPP ' s boycott of presidential election .

Now 90% of people take this approach . They begin with presidential election , it's importance etc , then they come to boycott then towards PPP performance , general public perception etc . It's awfully wrong but quite common approach .

The right approach shall be , start with Boycott , write about boycott , and end with Boycott of elections by PPP, no digression whatsoever .

Many candidates say that they got 20 to 30 marks less than heir expectations although they attempted the whole paper .

Answer to this Question .
1) Antibiotics should be used with prescription as they have fix dosage schedule .
2) they have many adverse affects e.g nephrotoxicity , deafness etc.
3) Indiscriminate use can develop resistance , e.g TB is resistant now in most parts of world.

This can fetch you 4 or 4.5 .

Totally agreed! But the long questions in History subjects should be treated as mini-essays and therefore they better have an introduction, a main body and the conclusion. for that matter, one needs to give a brief background of whatever is being asked.

For example: in 2013: there was this question that 1913-1916 was a period of Hindu Muslim unity. elaborate or whatever. this question demands that one writes about the pre-1913 events that eventually led to the hindu-muslim cooperation in this period.

Anyways being verbose, adding un-necessary information just because you know something is definitely not going to get you good scores

Brother you said, my answer was not briefed. can you write answer of this question in brief?

Mr Jahangeer Khan i told you after reading the question paper completely i think the question is either missing in this question paper or you did not check the paper which you have answered. so be logical when replying instead of replying in a rude manner.
this is the paper posted by Awais bhai, now could you please find the question which you have attempted?

Everyday Science 2013---Faislabad Re-exam 2) Briefly describe the role of nitrogen , phosphorous and potassium in the growth of plants. What are negative impacts of fertilisers?

3) Why long exposure of human skin to the sunlight is dangerous? What are various natural protections in our body against the harmful radiations in the Sunlight? Is there any positive impact of radiations?

4) Describe briefly the difference between. Conductors, semiconductors and insulators?

5) Give a brief account of use of radiation in medical diagnosis. Why MRI is preferred over CT scan or X-RAY imaging?

6)a) Why DDT once labelled as a miracle is now being considered an Environmental tragedy?
b) A large variety of deodorants mask the original odour of our body . Which body part produces the unpleasant smell and how it is produced?

7) Why people have switched to vegetable oil for cookin instead of saturated fats? Which of these two contain higher level of LDL? Is it HDL or LDL which is harmful to human health and why?

8) What are natural sources of vitamin D and symptoms of its deficiency in humans?
Why an indiscriminate use of antibiotics may prove dangerous?

9) Define Radioactivity . How alpha , beta and gamma radiations are produced as a result of decay of an unstable nucleus differ in their effects on living beings?

MCQS were real tough . I can't remember any repeated from Past papers , all were novel . About 25 from human physiology and zoology . Having attempted 2 EDS papers this year, I may give a piece of advice that the age of KASHMIRI and Bhatti is over in CSS EDS . Candidates should give a day per week to EDS like English , otherwise for art students EDS can be a tragedy now . Even people for medical backgrounds like me felt that EDS was difficult and especially MCQS.
