Wasn't the Q8 about the secondary sources of shariah like ijtihad (applying reasoning to drive from the primary sources i.e Revelation), which can be applied to solve the present day emerging problems like suicide attacks, use of force, cloning ? Since the rest of the problems were same before 1400 years as they are now.

Dear. You did right. they also asked for comparative review. As, Modern society is generally referred to western concept of liberty and fundamental rights so one had to substantiate that how role of woman in Islamic society is comparable to that in Modern society.

Dear, you could highlight the importance of revelation in that way but the other part of the question, that is, Science should also be discussed in co-relation.

The paper was very intelligently designed, the questions were ambiguous, and i think it all depends upon the examiners on which aspect they think is correct and which is not.
