Dear as I said depth is characteristic of Salinity and not a determinant factor. Depth doesn't affect the increase or decrease in ocean salinity but it is rather a characteristic of saline water. Salinity might change with depth but what causes salinity to increase or decrease is climate. Moreover climate is a major determinant of salinity. This is the main reason why salinity in some areas is high and in others low. Name any region which determines salinity through depth of ocean water.You will find examples of Salinity in conformity with climate.

Anyways you may consider what you want to consider. You may keep your opinion i would keep mine.

is dead sea an ocean or in an ocean? oceans keep moving, dead sea doesn't have any currents I guess. correct me if i'm wrong

Depth is directly related to salinity of all oceans and it is the closest variable. We just know that if it is deep it would be more saline. Climate is not directly related to salinity, it is related by other processes like evaporation and influx of fresh water, which are in turn caused by sun energy. So we can also say that salinity is directly related to sun. We find the closest determinants in such cases which is depth in this case.

And it's not a good approach to invite a source and then ask one to keep one's opinion to oneself. Then one shouldn't argue in the first place.

Dear that was the reason in the first place that I didn't want an argument. Why should a single mcq should become a source of confrontation ?
And about source, I can provide a no of different sources keeping my view, and your source also suggests depth is a characteristic.

You are defending it because you think its right and I'm defending my opinion because I think I'm right.

Except mcqs both papers were hot cakes for me :) Interestingly, I prepared only one ocean currents-atlantic and that question came in the paper. I attempted it to the level of perfection with figures. Though no question from Rocks, Earthquakes, Volcanoes, but paper went 'average'. Paper II was very easy and I made maps almost in every question. :)

In the end of the days, I came to know that my selection of optional subjects were [B]correct[/B]. More or less every paper came easier than that of other papers e.g socio. pub add, arabic. :)

At least, now I can say that Inshallah I will make it in this attempt if essay and fpsc's checking pattern allow me. :)

Now I am going to take my last and third attempt. :) Inshallah is me b jan laga deni hai.....phir jo naseeb! So, that's why from today I am going to make a new strategy for preparation...

Well it is written i deblij book that temperature climate is the deterimant of salinity. Logic is obvious more evaporation more salinity, this is the reason more saline oceans are in hotter regions of the world.

A very good attempt dear but I think the concept of fluvial cycle to be discussed here is not [B]Hydrological(Water) cycle[/B] that you've explained but its [B]fluvial cycle of erosion[/B].
Though the term "fluvial cycle" here is ambiguous as it means cycle involving water. However since this question is about the erosion caused by river water, I guess its Fluvial Cycle of Erosion.
