Experience was good. I was expecting just 2 or 3 candidates of philosophy. But we were 9 at my center (RWP).
Don't remember much mcqs. But they were not much difficult in both the papers. One could easily do at least 15 mcqs in the first try. At present I can recall just 3 mcqs from philosophy about which I was confused. First, Descartes was: Idealist, Empiricist, Agnostic, None of These. I selected Agnostic. Second, Who reconciled religion and philosophy? Al farabi Al Kindi Ibn Arabi, None of these. I selected None of these because I think its Ibn Rushd who reconciled religion and philosophy. Third was about some statement as in who said this? I selected Pythagorus option. But I can't recall the statement now at all. On the whole both papers were easy and manageable. Thanx to Allah that Philosophy's examiner didn't try to play some sort of bluff by giving one paper easy and one entirely unmanageable like the Psychology's examiner did. |

@knowledgefundy Thanx for bringing the real options back to my memory. You can be correct with respect to Descartes and Ibn Sina. But the logic behind my answers was a bit different.
For the first one: Descartes is famous for skepticism. I thought that Skepticism and Agnosticism are same. Even the "I think" part in 'I think therefore I am' also connotes Doubt and Skepticism. For the second one: I thought that early Muslim Rationalists (Mutazilites, Al Farabi, Ibn Sina) held philosophy superior to religion. That is why they had to face the ire of Al Ghazali. It was Ibn Rushd who made a formal attempt to reconcile religion and philosophy in his book "A Decisive Discourse on the Relation between Religion and Philosophy" (Fasl-al-Maqal wa Taqrir ma bayn al-Shariah wa-l-Hikmah min al-Ittisal) Lets see what happens in the result. Good Luck. |

Both papers were quite interesting and far from traditional approach, Though objective portion was a bit difficult but it would be easy to score better this time especially in II because of more focus on Western philosophy. 150 at hand

Philosophy papers were untraditional no doubt about that repetition of pervious questions came as surprise, fingered crossed let see what happen.
