Notes are not enough to cover IR .it can be done for other subjects.but i think it required prep till the exam.means 12months.merely evolution of IR society covers 38 pages.yes it can be shortened.but what about current development that can create a new book of IR if one would note them down?

its a good job to take pain for guiding the aspirants. However let me share with you the reality of IR. You can solve IR paper even without giving a single reading, but if you want to get good marks you will have to study good IR books thoroughly because: all the concepts in IR contested, IR answers demand fluent and clear language, usage of IR terminology every question must be discussed from various perspectives. Take the question of power for instance: every candidate would have gone for it but a few would know the difference between power as attribute and relational power.

Yes. A multidimensional approach always yields better, let it be IR or any other subject.

One can download economist, Newyork times, or wallstreet journal using torrents. All these sources present a different point of view

Well said. Lol you made me realize what I had missed in my answer. I focused mostly on the realist concept of power and how the acquisition of power and security are interlinked. And I talked about Gramsci's theory of structuralism. The rest I don't remember but I think this was the theoretical perspective I focused on.

Regards,

Question National power i attempt this question with reference to Territory, population, Geography, economy, etc with different examples of states...then i discuss soft power such as media, cultural aspects, public opinion etc...i guess i discuss realist etc school of thoughts as well. Is that right?...
Here in discussions friends interpreted different version of question, that put me in doubt about my own question?...

You did it the right way using the tangible and non tangible elements of national power.

Thanks :-) In the paper they ask us to write ingredients so i thought it would be better to mention these elements..but here discussion put me in doubt.

War as a rational choice of state policy i discuss this question as a rational, irrational, and individual choice with reference to world war fought such as WW I, II in between these wars, and cold war. I put heading explain it then justify my stance with wars their events with examples.?...
